The best way to confront someone cutting is to give them the "oh i didnt realize" out. "excuse me, the line actually starts back there :)" "excuse me we were in line :)" I never confront if its friends joining someone who was holding a spot, I think thats fine UNLESS the line is for some like exclusive/limited thing.
