Woo another good episode! About the "On a recorded line" bit for scams, I don't think that's necessarily true. When I used to work at Wells Fargo, we had to start our outgoing phone calls with stating the call may be monitored or recorded. We said it every time because certain states have laws that require you to saying it.

You’re on the right track. Pettiness is a comparative overreaction to something that is ultimately unimportant or trivial. So in QT’s case, regardless of whether it’s “right,” keying his car isn’t petty because your 6+ month boyfriend being a cheating asshole who has betrayed you isn’t trivial. It’s arguably not even an overblown reaction. Honestly, I’d rather have my car keyed than a cheating boyfriend. Keying the car was revenge though. Revenge is retaliation or retribution for harm caused regardless of whether it’s big, small, or to scale with the harm.

I watched Passengers after Maya started describing it, it sounded interesting. I also agree that I don't think she should have forgiven him and chose to live with him, but Maya left out a huge part of the movie which is the actual plot of the ship failing and them having to save it together.

Pettiness is just revenge blown out of proportion. Its revenge if he cheats on you so you mess with him in some minor relatively harmless way. its pettiness if you were just texting him and interested and then ends up with someone else so you key his car. scale and context matter. One gets you luls. one is cuckoo. and maybe like jail time.
