I think it’s totally justified and valid for that to be your personal take. I just think it’s a bit harsh to put the burden of it on QT when she ultimately has the same ideals as you but just displayed them in a different act of intolerance for Rowling than you would have. QT’s just another person who’s trying her best. That’s all. That’s my 2 cents.

The better way is to stop platforming her IP altogether, so that it ends. I also grew up loving that series, but I recognize the harm it does beyond Rowling’s recent work. The whole series is filled with racist stereotypes, and that game continued the pattern.

the hogwarts game? QT made it a charity stream and raised a bunch of money for the trevor project. what better way to say screw you to Rowling than to raise money in her name for LGBTQ+ via her own IP? There were a lot of people who grew up with HP but didn’t want to support the game/buy it due to Rowling and were able to enjoy it through QT playing it how she did.
