As much as Wine About It likes to spread misinformation (jkjk), QT was right about the passing it on. It's a major plot point in both the American and Japanese movies that the viewer is cursed to die 7 days after watching the video unless the tape is copied and shown to someone else.

It was a train not an orgy in the sewers! lol and it was very odd. Especially since it came off as rapey since a lot of the guys were reluctant and the girl was pressuring them hard to do it. And while you can question King's motives for the scene. There are a bunch of really good articles written about it that are well worth the read like "Child Sexuality and the Never Filmed Scene in Stephen King’s It"
