I actually joined as a Patron just to make those 2 comments. 😉 I think the first video of yours I ever watched tho... oh man... probably your first epoxy shootout... NO it was either the first superglue or maybe the first duct tape shootout, like 6 years ago! (Duct tape metadata: 4,804,365 views, posted Jan 28, 2018.) I have used your channel right next to Consumer Reports, as experimental and documentary evidence, as I was buying things like chainsaws and engine additives.

Am I the only one thinking that timing and cam design are likely the reasons for the disparity in performance, especially for the Briggs? I was surprised to see that it performed as poorly as it did! Maybe you could do a round 2, with Tecumseh, Tillotson, Briggs Knockoff, and maybe a Kawasaki? I had a Kawasaki on a Arien's lawnmower. SOLID engine. I'd like to see how it stacks up against the rest... Or maybe do v-twins! Kawasaki FR730V-S00 24 HP 726cc Vertical V-Twin Engine Briggs & Stratton 40T8 656cc (20hp) or 44T7 724cc (23hp) V-Twin Engine PREDATOR 22 HP (670cc) V-Twin Horizontal Shaft Man finding specific info on small engines is hard... I been trying to look up v-twins to include and NOBODY lists their engines by v-twin/single categories... grrrr...

I think it makes perfect sense that the engines with iron cylinder walls would have a substantially higher iron content in the oil, especially after just the first 48 hours, which is going to be a break-in period where the cylinders, pistons, rings, bearings, and crank journals are all wearing into a perfect fit with each other.

Sorry I didn't do a better job explaining the post. The oil analysis results are from today's video comparing 4 different horizontal shaft small engines. The main purpose of the oil analysis is to compare wear metal content in the oil. Thanks again, Todd

“Should be” are ranges and standards.

My Opinion: "Should be" values are most likely average values based from the manufacturers or other testing facilities averages. This is a single test only.
