Happy holidays to you, we hope you had a lovely Christmas (for those who celebrate it, of course) and that New Year's Eve will be a fun and memorable one for you! 🎉
Whether you are a new patron or a veteran to our Patreon project, we are grateful for you and your support and we wish you all a happy new year!
This month's work has been shaken up by some personal matters and even though we have made some progress on the melee weapons animations, we quickly realized it would require more love if we wanted to do them justice, so we changed our plans for this release to dig into requests and suggestions.
It can be frustrating at times to keep "pushing back" some of the animations we're so eager to finalize and share with you (like the whip for instance), that we know you're really looking forward to.
Juggling between the time it takes to research and experiment, with the time we need to publish (at least one release per month) is a constant challenge for us.
A challenge that we're welcoming however, and your words of encouragement are helping us to stay on track and keep creating. We're ever so grateful.
In other news, there's an experimental build of Blender that is dedicated to simulation in Geometry Nodes and it's exciting for us animators as it will offer us more possibilities in terms of particle systems and such. 😏

Contents of the release
The texture and the tokens used in the following gifs are created by "Forgotten adventures". See their Patreon page for more !
- A little tweak to the "Swirling Leaves Outburst" animation along with feather models (textures from "Bird feathers atlas" by den4ik4irik is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution).
It would make for a good "Feather Fall" spell in DnD5e for example :)
The ranged ones will have to wait as the system for the Swirling Leaves was quite a lot more complex to duplicate and accomodate for the feathers, but it is planned.
- We needed more "smoke" effects, so we created a couple of them.
A "Smoke Plumes" and a "Smoke Ring Marker" for now.
- Shields circling around a point to represent a protection of some kind was suggested a while ago so here is the "Shield_Rampart" marker. Three different models for now.
- A yellow (Divine Light theme) was requested for a lot of animations. We didn't make them all but quite a few of them! :)

ASE is developed by Vauryx, who is not affiliated with us and decided to use our Patreon module as a dependency. It would require more work to make it compatible with our free module as well as the Patreon one. Anybody can contribute though, if you want to or know someone that can code and make a Pull Request on Github: https://github.com/Vauryx/advancedspelleffects Note that ASE is compatible with the V9 version of FoundryVTT, not yet with V10.
