Once I saw exactly what part of the tenderloin that the hotel was in I was like oh yeah that intersection there gets really crazy at night. When I've driven past it at night there's just like a hoard of people shambling around. I'd say next time stay at the Hotel Nikko or something, it's super nice and closer to Union Square at least.

the big boom might have been a m80 "firework". its not an actual firework its basically just a bomb. They are set off all the time near me. very scary and shakes the whole house. its the most dynamite you can buy at a regular firework store (there is nothing pretty about it, its just a big flash)

Something I don't see brought up a lot. Agents should be bringing you deals. Your manager should not be bringing you deals. If they do get new managers. Managers should be a neutral party who advices you on your career and if a deal or project is something you should do or if it would hurt your career. The second the manager can make extra money if you accept a deal you can no longer trust their opinion

If it’s your first time yeah wouldn’t go there. My friends mom went there and got robbed and now we can’t convince her to go back. But unironically one of my favorite places to go whenever I go back to sf. But for women especially visiting I can def understand the danger and safety concerns

just wanted to say that I live in San Francisco and the Tenderloin is pretty infamous for being a place nobody wants to go to, including cops. the sfpd is general is really not great about dealing with unhoused people, drug dealers, etc. Also, the loud bang you heard was 95% a firework. I live close to a pretty popular park in sf and there are certain fireworks that people have been setting off all month that are truly just one big bang, and they do sound like gunshots! I'm really sorry you guys had to deal with all of that without any previous knowledge of it. <3

The other silly part about the dire wolves is that they’re straight up not Dire Wolves… they’re regular wolves with a little gene editing to look a certain way, that’s not the same as an actual Dire Wolf! As someone that works in the Tenderloin in SF... Yeah.... It's not the as dangerous as people make it out to be but I wouldn't suggest walking at night mostly due to all the homelessness and drug use but yeah the city kind of gave up on that district. There's police evey corner but they only really care about certain crimes.
