It's funny that some of the FGC (Fighting Game Community) sees a big streamer like LilyPichu get nominated and think that she only got that because of her large viewerbase, but because they don't watch her stream, they don't realize she's put in a lot of time and effort towards learning the games. She's not just dipping her toes the way a lot of big streamers do when they're in a Sajam event. And QT is spot-on, most people watching the hardcore fighting game streams aren't voting in the Streamer awards then acting like their fav has been snubbed. Some genres would only work, IMO, as entirely panel-chosen nominations, but I know that goes against the spirit of the awards show.

the squid game situation reminds me of a manga, the way to crack these dystopian game shows is forming alliances with the promise of whoever wins, has to split their prize to everyone on the team. and even if sometimes trust is hard to come by, all it takes is one person to be like: here you go everyone i actually dont need this much money. this happens a lot in survival game fictions, imagine if it happens irl.

I low-key think squid games was ruined by getting turned into reality, it takes away the point of the original show which was making fun of the rich and corporations abusing the poor but they are just doing that unironically, after I watched season 1 I refused to watch anything squid games related cause of how it was being spun in this way

gosh i totally agree with QT's take on hosting parties... i hosted a party for Halloween and some strangers invited 10 people who drank all my alcohol, threw up on my couch, were super rude to me when i tried to talk to them, and never even tried to introduce themselves. i wish people would have more etiquette about inviting +1's.
