Weekly Update - 6/21/23

So let's skip back to a little over a week ago. A very good artist friend of mine (whom I've collaborated with before in DayJobStuff, and have an upcoming collaboration in the works with now) calls me up and says, "Hey I need a favor. I had someone bail on me last minute. Can you come out and man the vendor part of my booth at this convention? We have to have that meeting with the client that you were going to FaceTime into, but you could just come out here and actually be here for it, and you'd be doing me a solid? You'll probably just be sitting around and can write most of the convention." I pointed out that the convention's all the way across the country (four time zones and everything), and my friend offers to buy the plane tickets, cover the hotel room, buy every bit of food and drink I have while I'm out there and says it'll all be fine.
Never trust your friends.
(Of course, never abandon them either.)
So, I got back late Monday night, having not gotten almost any writing done over the convention weekend, having been swamped from doors open to doors close each day, and then I basically slept through most of Tuesday fighting off convention crud.
That said, I'm going to be busting my balls for the rest of the week to try and get caught up, so we'll see how much of a flurry of activity I can be, considering I have a completely empty schedule for a week or so. I'm nearly done with the next Threadbinders and will post that before I go to bed tonight (with a very spicy sex scene in it), and then we'll just have to take it as it comes for the rest of the week, but believe you me when I say I'm happy to be back writing again, and you should expect to see story posts dropping out regularly for the week, assuming the con crud has passed. I barely remember much of yesterday (or the trip/flight home!) but apparently I was a charming son of a bitch at the meeting, which is always nice to hear, and they're giving us money, which is even better.
Also, I saw last Thursday that EMCSA wasn't updating this weekend, so I didn't ship anything to public sites at all last week. That means everything that was supposed to go out last week will also go out this week. 6/24 - Devil's Details 6, Morgana's Gift 14, 7/1 - Brass In Pocket, 7/8 - Seven Secrets of Mr. Magpie 5, 7/15 - CARP 3, 7/22 - A Pack Of His Own 2.
Thanks for all the well wishes on the Discord upon my return. I posted there when I got back before I crawled into bed and slept like 15 hours. I understand conventions can be the price of doing business from time to time, but man, normally I get to see something of the city I'm in. But I either ate at the booth or had room service brought up to me for every meal the entire trip. No bars, no restaurants, nothing.
Anyway, wanted everyone to know I'm alive and well, sorry for the delays, and will be hammering away hard for the next week to try and get semi back on track. But when one of your oldest friends says "Hey, I need help," saying no isn't even an option.
Your patience and kindness is extremely appreciated.

Okay, the pun from "Real Genius" seems hilarious at the moment. But since QT2-11 is coming (cumming?) next week, I'll patiently wait for it. It's a good series, and I'm glad I bought a copy on Amazon to support you, Devin. (It'll be a nice birthday surprise for me, as the b-day is coming up.)
