It's not decided yet. I will start working on the Steam version immediately after the Patreon version has been released, but it will require testing and additional code so I can't set a date for it yet.

You have to be at least a $5 sub, then it's the pinned post at the top. Well worth it! I would estimate there is over 60 hours of content in one playthrough if you actually read the story. There's honestly much more because replays are actually a thing in this game because there are so many paths and your choices have consequences.

Patreon and Steam saves aren't compatible. If you download the Patreon version, you have to start over. You still have some time before the release to do this, which means that you can start playing episode 8 from those new saves when it drops.

I am not complaining, I am just stating facts. But good point on splitting the file to multiple zips. I would prefer that. But since Doc is the only person working on the game, it might be too much to ask him to provide the option to either download entire file or multiple zips.

yh, but you still need to use up 40gb of space for a game that consists of slides. Fortnite requires less space than this game.

back in my day, we had download managers. This was popular when everyone had dial-up. I don't know if they still exist, but that would be what he would want. that being said, I think tinyrock12 is marvelling about the size of a AVN. Comparing the size to AAA games, thusly calling Being A DIK great quality. Then again, I could be wrong.

Yes, I've thought about this, but decided against it, since I've gotten too many questions regarding "how do I unzip". I fear that splitting the zip into smaller volumes will clog my inbox with even more "I can't unzip". One big volume is what I will be going for.

i don't know if tinyrock12 is complaining about the game size itself, or if when downloading the game the download may fail, if its the former, well it is a detailed game and a great game, up-to you if you want it or not. You can't expect a B.M.W. to be the size and power of a two stroke motor or a Rocket Ship to be the size of a Bi-Plane. if it's the later, well my best advise to DrPinkCake is to have update's if possible, but also to have the downloads zipped, but split into maybe 5 gb or 10 gb parts so people can get it in a couple of downloads and recombine when unzipping, zip, rar whatever he thinks is best.

I'm missing 3 scenes in episode 7. I have Josy episode 7 unlocked, then 3 locked scenes then another Josy scene. I'm guessing they're probably Bella or Cathy or Jade. can someone give me an idea what path I need to take? I've honestly played this game like 15 times and cant believe I still have locked scenes.

well after playing through the whole game (7episodes) in the last few days I could not do anything else than to go huge dik. It was a really great experience. And at first I was not even sure but these characters get so well fleshed out and even the people you do not expect to like become special. This wasrly an experience Great work man

In theory yes. But keep it until you see it's working and if any save doesn't load in the new version, you can go back to the previous version, load it, and then save at another spot to fix it.

Quick question when we download the full game and delete the old version of the game, will our save files be fine when loading it up from the appdata/renpy/beingadik folder? Sorry about asking I've just had issues in the past with other games where save files would be messed up when loading up from the appdata folder.

Will Steam season 2 be launched along with the November Patreon subscribers release? Or will it be pushed back into December or possibly even later. Even though I intend on buying it on Steam I'm not opposed to increasing my monthly pledge to ensure I'm able to download and play the much anticipated episode 8as close to if not the day it becomes available. I just pledged $15 a month on the 1st...wish I knew that on the second it would be paywalled in the $25 pledge for the month of November (tentative)

Maybe, but it's not a guarantee. What I would do is to try loading your save in v0.8.0, if it doesn't work go back to your old version and save at another spot and then try again until it works. Ends of episodes are often safe spots to save and continue.

You can turn autosaving off in the next version, but save lag has been reduced with the upgrade.

This is perfect I Just finished unlocking the last scene this instant :D I did note a couple of things that may require fixing in the dialogues. I will try and find them all back but the one that I remember is that when I got the lewd scene with Lilly at the hot party the dialogue was as if we never had sex before even though I already did her at the prep party. (I had something similar with Riona at some point too I think)

Yes! Most definitely. Any needed bug fixes v0.8.1 etc, would be available as patch. But you will need a full v0.8.0 download.

I know you test the hell out of your game, but there is always the possibility that a bugfix release may be needed. Could that be downloaded as a patch? It would be frustrating to have to download that much twice. I apologize for posing a speculative situation that we all hope will never happen. But my mind works in strange ways at times. I eagerly await this release.

For several reasons, I choose to keep the native Ren'Py compression. I'm sure you could gain a bit by doing other kinds of compression, but I don't want to experiment when the RenPy method has proven successful with most anti-virus programs and less corrupted zip files.

There will be free alternatives to MEGA, yes. But as the last release proved, this release is anticipated and every host site I use will experience problems with download speed.

How is the Ren'py compression? Would it make sense to compress it via conventional means with a 7z file set to maximum instead of trying to further compress the rpa files?
