Status update Episode 9

I continued to work on art this week. I produced both static renders and animations.
I completed a couple of long and short scenes, and I completed work on two lewd scenes.
It feels like I have a good flow and no question of what I should work on every day.
I have a lot of art to produce - thousands of renders - and I am focusing on this.
At the moment, I'm working on art for something new that I think is one of the cooler features in episode 9.
The long animation queue I talked about several weeks ago has finally depleted, and the PCs are working on new animations I've lined up for them.
Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey regarding previews. Although votes are split, there are some trends I have reflected upon.
It's impossible to please everyone, but most of you don't want to see any costume spoilers, so I'll try to limit them in previews.
And if I choose to post something, I'll make sure to hide the image as an attachment so you can choose if you want to see it or not.
Some episodes will be like this when previews can spoil the episode badly, and it's too hard to find something worth showing. I had the same issue during the development of the final two episodes of Acting Lessons.
It feels comforting knowing that most of you are fine with not seeing renders if it were to spoil content. But as a creator, I still want to create and give you content monthly, between updates. Posting nothing has never sat right with me, so I felt I needed to do this survey in the first place.
I'll have a new poll up and running early this month.

DPC is the man.
I've been following BAD for a long while now (at least 2-ish years), right after completing Acting Lessons, and am truly marveled with each episode that passes. You do some of the best, if not THE best work within the adult graphic novel scene. Anyways, without ranting too much, know that I really appreciate your work, and will continue for as long as I am able. keep it up DPC!

the more time spend reading this and answering us, less time to rest,write etc.. ill wait,.. Dont want to lol want it now. but id much rather see this great game move forward as great as it has been,ergo not rushed etc...

First off, I just want to clarify that I’m not criticizing the interlude. The reason I don’t consider it a regular release is because, as the name implies, the Interlude is just that - a break in the main story, which doesn’t advance the storyline. Even the ending was predictable, as we already knew Zoey had returned home as shown in the ending of Chapter 8. Secondly, I do agree that a long gameplay is preferable. However, I don’t equate quality with long gameplay. If DPC had released Chapter 1 as one huge release, the quality would have been there just as it as was with the 4 individual chapters, and the quality would also be there with 8 chapters rather than 4, but with shorter waiting periods. But again, this is just my opinion and in the end, it’s not my game and DPC will do what DPC will do, which is to continue to put out a quality and very entertaining visual novel…

Considering the quality of releases, this is bar far one of the best AVN you can find. Dr Pinkcake is doing a fantastic job and can't wait for this to come out to see how Halloween comes out. The more branching aspects that come from choices make development time longer. Shouldn't mess with the creative process and looking at his Q&A over the past year I can understand this. Rathe have a proper completed game than some of the AAA titles that require a year after going live to sort. Good games require time. Being a Dik is one of the best right now.

I would agree on all the other flat story games you can support but in this special case I definitly prefer the long releases. This is based on my personal opinion which is that this game has an outstanding quality and I want to enjoy a longer gameplay once an update is released. IMHO

Don't want to cause problems, but...how can you not count the interlude when doing your pacing math. That dropped just a few months ago, and we're not getting an interlude between every chapter. Rethink the math. Also, if you like the quality, like most of us do, then you should have no problem with HOW that quality is achieved, which is at the current pace

Episode 8 was released in November 2021 I think. Now here we are in June 2022 with no guesstimate on the next release. Not counting Interlude, I guess we’re only getting one chapter this year at the current pace? Now, I’m loving the quality of the writing, renders and a animations, and the length and the different paths you can play. This can definitely keep one busy for a long while, but the wait times to resolve cliff hangers is frustrating. Personally, I’d prefer shorter but more frequent releases. Just my personal thoughts…

Some of them, yes. But it's indeed the same problem. In the past I've omitted some clucks from Twitter for this reason, but few have noticed.
