A glance at the run inscribed words brought enlightenment, allowing Eve to recognize the temple for what it was. * Rune *?

Mr. Bigglesworth

She's not checking the truth stone, Rex is? Pacts are agreements between powerful Patrons of at least Tier 6 and those below them. In exchange for specific abilities the weaker party will tithe a portion of an agreed amount for as long as the agreement runs.

The race of the statue could also shift to the race of the person looking at it

How do Pacts work in this story? And why would she need to check a truth stone doesn’t she have a ritual of truth?

Mr. Bigglesworth

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: This involves the Cosmology of my story, and I can't really comment since we aren't even past book two at the moment. The character that would give context to this hasn't even had their chapter yet. Sowwy!

I'm trying to think of ways Eve could eventually become more powerful then her brother (as is right because she is his older sister). I noticed how you said "nothing survives the dust" and since Eves brother is The Primordial Darkness doesn't that mean her brother has a Nothing affinity? or something like that. And if her brother has this Nothing Affinity and "nothing survives the dust" then is it even possible for Eve to become stronger then her brother if she uses dust?

Mr. Bigglesworth

Might not go that far but this has potential, hm.

The Child, The Maiden, the Mother, The Crone.

I'm always happy to see Granny Eve :D and you got my mind churning on what her statue is going to be. Also what offerings she would prefer. Maybe knowledge? Since it'll add to her library. For the devout she could hand out knowledge. But the potential statue has got me really going. The whole thing about Eve's forms mimic The Maiden, The woman and the Elder of Fate. Maybe a statue that shifts form depending on who looks at it. Some people see a wizened elder of knowledge and magic, another would see a beautiful woman, who is equal parts motherly and dangerous, while yet another could see youth whose thirsting for knowledge and untapped potential. No idea, throwing ideas at the wall. But the whole aspect is intriguing to me in statue format. XD

So Eve's venture into being a Warlock Patron is just the industrialization of finding subordinates. She found six or seven in a few days, but that's chump change compared to putting herself out there in a church. I wonder what boons she'll be offering. Since she's using the Silver Witch as her iconography, her blessing should utilize the dust affinity in some way. My suggestion for this is that in 'Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!', the world isn't actually magical. Instead, an invisible cloud of nanobots covers the planet, and they are responsible for conjuring the spell effects that mages use. For example, a fire spell is made by having the nanobots rearrange gasses in the atmosphere and igniting it to produce a burst of fire. In this way, all magic is simulated via highly advanced technology. Eve might be able to design several highly efficient spells utilizing the general cheat-like properties of Primordial affinities and Dust's nanobot-like qualities in particular. The users themselves would have no idea how the blessing granted spells actually work other than that the mana costs are miraculously low. Even if there are only a few cookie-cutter attack, defense, and utility spells being simulated with Dust for them, the blessing would likely be extremely popular.
