Heat 0.6.7.2 Milestone - fullbody improvements, optimizations, riley outfit
🕑 Added 2024-10-31 00:20:42 +0000 UTCThis month we're working on improving the playerbody experience for those without trackers (although there's still some work to go)!
The playerbody now has a radial menu entry. When the radial menu is enabled, posing balls will appear. Grab the balls (gently) to pose the corresponding parts of your body. This should make it feasible to get into positions with the playerbody! We've also added a slider to be able to pose your body in a specific pose, and poses in-between.
We're also experimenting with a one-time intro mode to the game for first time players. This uses the game's con-demo mode as a base. Let us know what you think in the discord!
There's also other changes such as a significant performance improvement that hopefully didn't break anything, and a new outfit for Riley (all outfits are in the radial menu). Check out the changelog!

WMR
WMR controls change depending on the model, and some actions may be unbound entirely. You can see/edit your bindings by going to the settings in the SteamVR overlay and adjust the bindings and add any missing actions there.
For 2D:
ESC: Close/move menu
WASD: Move
P/L: Switch between VR mode and 2D mode
Q/E or Ctrl/Space: Move up and Down
TAB: Open Radial Menu
N: Extend tongue/kiss
M whilst holding toy: Shoot
Click: Grab something when the cursor lights up green
R/F, Z/X, T/G: Rotate item in hand
Mouse Wheel: Move object away or towards the camera

Known Issues
Laser might not register with UI sometimes, possible fixes are: Game restart, by setting the game window to focus by clicking on it, or by alt-tabbing (let me know if this still happens, I may have fixed it)
Browser doesn't launch when hitting authenticate, or refuses to connect: Try running in admin mode or setting a different browser to default temporarily
Common Solutions to Game Issues
These are common solutions to many problems, ranging from the tongue not spawning to the game not launching in VR, or the game not authenticating. Try these out first if you're having issues, they work surprisingly often. If they don't work, message me and I'll be glad to help.
All issues (try these first):
Right click on verifyintegrity.ps1 and select 'Run with PowerShell' to validate your files. If this fails, redownload the game. The download got corrupted.
Make sure the game isn't installed within any folders that have winky faces or other unusual characters in them at any part in the path. This includes characters from other languages.
Webroot, and rarely other antiviruses falsely flag the game and will delete its files without telling you anything. Make sure they don't do that
Restart the game and your computer
Auth issues:
If you're using a VPN it must be a system-wide VPN, not just a browser VPN
If you have a localhost error in your browser, press the auth trouble button below the authenticate button and follow the directions exactly.
Check "use alternate port" below the authenticate button
Run the game as admin
Make sure an antivirus isn't messing with Heat
Make sure game is let through firewall
Set a different browser to default temporarily
Disable adblocker temporarily
Disable any security that could prevent your computer from opening a socket and accepting a connection temporarily
VR issues:
Adding the game as a non-steam game then running from within SteamVR (if not working in VR)
Press P to switch to 2D mode and L to switch to VR mode on your keyboard
If your hands don't work, reset SteamVR bindings for the game. If you can't do this, launch the game from the .exe, not from the Steam shortcut
If you're using Oculus and the game doesn't launch in VR, launch SteamVR and sit in it for about 30 seconds then run the game from within SteamVR
Reinstall/validate SteamVR and Oculus software
Update video drivers
Clicking on the game window with your mouse when the game is open then putting on your VR headset (if the UI laser doesn't work)

Would love to see more clothing options and chastity options for other characters. Also a way to spawn a character in a pose but in a different location. I would love to spawn a character on their back but not on the bed or on their knees in front of a chair or table instead of always in the middle of the room. Are there any more plans for more scenes (Similar to Garrett + Emmy)? I would love to see some of the other character interacting in unique ways or the ability to pick a scene then the characters in that scene.

Been doing an awful lot with Renee and Altas, love horses. And most hooved creatures to begin with. Bovine, cervine. My favorite so far is posing those two in a missionary pose in various places. My biggest thing is aiming Altas to penetrate and getting him back in once Renee climaxes lol.

Really not feasible for a full body user, we’re all accustomed to vr games that allow for play space mover, vrc being the best example, I use it all the time in your game it’s something that really should be looked at, and I don’t think it’s causing the root of this issue as I had no problems before with play space mover.

yeah went back and tested, using 3 full body trackers I get the leg issue if I bend them up while sitting, it seems like a ik constraint issue. I adjust my height with ovr space mover so I matched the character height

okay great performance this update, usually with 3 characters loaded including the player I would get pretty bad performance, now its just fine. A bug I noticed is now that you can customize clothes on the player with the new radial, any time you try the skirt option the game crashes, the rest of the clothes are fine. Lastly for the full-body experience, things have generally become worse, now when sitting down if I raise my legs up at all they twist around and break. This issue wasn't present in previous versions, would be nice if it could be fixed.

Might we get keybinds for changing the height in VR non playerbody? When I'm just flying around trying to create custom poses and stuff its really tedious to have to go into the menu every time I drop a toy on the floor, and cant reach it for instance. non-vr has this keybind.

Ah hm, for non-trackers. Nice. Any improvements for single tracker users? I recently did the silly thing and bought a Vive Ultimate tracker to use with my Quest 3 since I don't have base stations or anything. And it works decently, but when it is used as the waist of full-body, the feet just start doing tap-dance as the inverse kinematics keep re-solving where to place the feet on the ground, and it starts looking very silly very quickly. (this was on 0.6.6.2) Any plans to give the feet some more "realistic" autonomy when no ankle trackers exist? (I assume the intended setup is three trackers, with waist + ankles, idk)
