Update: Tekken 8 Foot Mod Project WIP
🕑 Added 2024-03-03 09:51:25 +0000 UTCWell, well, well... PROGRESS! Since my first post about our ongoing Tekken 8 Project, things have been happening. To reiterate, I and others on the Ryona Sanctuary Discord who are one in loving feet have been throwing around the idea of commissioning a foot mod to replace the default Tekken 8 feet models. Fortunately, it didn't take much to get things finally started and things moving, and we were able to contact CG artist NecDaz to do the work of sculpting the model (someone else would have to actually make a mod to use in-game, afaik). Suffice to say, we settled on having a main foot model and two alternate models with variant style/look to be done up.
The two pics above show the progress- the first pic is a look at the default Tekken 8 feet, while the right is a WIP of the modded foot. Right there, I think we can see the HUGE difference- the sheer shape of the foot, the toes, the detail of the skin, gradations of color, wrinkles, an actual arch... even now I'm already happy. Of course, this is still work in progress, and it should get even better. There are still issues with the toes and toenails- details that I am hardly qualified to talk about, just to say that work is being done.
The change is so significant that I have basically decided to stop making Tekken 8 content until the foot mod is done and installed in my game, since once that happens I am basically starting from zero with this game. Everything that I have done up to now- all the KO endings, is prologue. We will be entering a new era once all this is done, hopefully soon. Anyway, this was made possible thanks to your support- my Footfans, Footguards and SoleMates. One Giant Leap for Foot Love in Tekken 8 lol.
I'll update again if I need to, though I hope the next time I post about this the mod will be done and in my game. We'll see. For now, I am excited at what's to come.
UPDATE: Full disclosure, the WIP pic of the sole I posted above, which looks AMAZING, is a image from NecDaz91's textures, outside the game. How the model will actually look INGAME remains to be seen, since Tekken 8 has its own textures. We are shooting to get as good as we can get the feet looking in the actual game, which may or may not be exact to the image above. Crossing fingers we end up with something great, though even this early at the very least we already have something far better than the default. It's just a matter of how far we can go.

Bottom line, the default Tekken 8 feet model would actually look good- IF it was in a last-gen game. But this is now, and honestly, for a game in Unreal 5, that foot looks FUGLY as hell. We deserve better- nope, the BEST we can get.

Yep. When TME or a Pose script becomes available, we'll be ready with the best-looking feet. :) We're building for the future... today lol Being a character model-based mod, this shouldn't get broken by updates like scripts or CTs, but hopefully other mods will work well with it.

Oh god, if I could implement this along with TekkenMoveExtractor, I'll have so many lovely pics of girls doing Nina, Reina and Hwoarang's moves :D

Hopefully the mod will be finished soon and we'll finally unlock Tekken 8's footie potential lol

Thanks. :) This is a joint effort with other foot-lovers but I am happy to have been able to get things started at least.
