Behind the scenes of Funfair: 2015, pages 6 and 7

One thing I wish Funfair had kept is Conker's water wings. The guy isn't great at swimming, and he's awfully scared of water! He looks so darling with them on, there's no way I'm not bringing them back at some point... Hee hee hee.
This iteration of the comic was never completed beyond page 7, unfortunately. I think I dropped it mainly because my art style was maturing quickly at the time, and I kept looking back and feeling like I could draw it better. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the script either... but, to be honest, I don't think I'll ever be.

I guess humans could exist, so long as they're as cartoony as the beastly characters! I don't usually envision would like these but I suppose it makes sense.

I love worlds where humans and anthros co-exist. Poor Conker though, I can't imagine being in a pool that crowded at the best of times, and especially not being scared of water!

Definitely a canon I'm into as well. Conker is hydrophobic - he tends to go in an irrational panic when he's in water, so much that he struggles to stay afloat. I think it's likely that Banjo once rescued him (Banjo is himself a natural swimmer), and regularly brought him along to a lake near his home, where he tried to improve. That would make a good scenario for a story, huh~

Funny enough, I had a headcannon where Conker couldn't swim without floaties or a life vest as an adult. He had a traumatic incident as a child where he nearly drowned without them. Banjo helps Conker get over his fear and teaches him how to swim without assistance. It would be a nice bonding moment.
