These props I made for Celeste are not 1-bit per se, but knowing how to work with 1-bit helped me a LOT while designing them.

This is what I love most about pixel art... getting an idea across with the least amount of pixels possible. It's so challenging! It's almost like "tricking" the eye into seeing something.

I love this art style. It allows for some really cool techniques, for instance: I once saw a video on YouTube about someone combining multiple "1-bit" images into a single one, so they eventually had one image with which they could show every image by simply changing the colour information/palette. I had never thought of this myself, but it looked really impressive... I'm unable to find the video now... I'll update if I find it.
