The only problem is that I lack a decent Pill Furnace. The current one is far too small and low grade, it’ll waste more ingredients than efficiently use them, even with my highly intelligent Item Spirit.
A Tier Two one not only will save ingredients during the refining process, but will also be able to refine a hundred Pills in one sitting.
Due to how Hera didn’t know anything about Pills, I presume I can expect the same from the rest of the population of Orario.
So requesting a Pill Furnace to be made shouldn’t come at an enormous price. Hopefully.
“I don’t know.” Meteria finally answers, confusion filling her voice. “Is that weird?”
I hum softly at that. “Not really. You did just acquire the health and freedom you always wanted all of a sudden, after all.” I reach up to warmly pat her head, making her hum and giggle cutely. “Just take your time now, because you have plenty with me around.”
She leans back against my chest at my words, then grabs my hands and pulls them over her lap so to make me hug her.
With a smile, I tilt my head and kiss her on the neck, making her face and ears flush bright red.
“Hehehehehe~!” Yep, adorable.
I’ve already given her the Pill so that she doesn’t get pregnant, because even with my Pills, a pregnancy will surely ruin her health even more.
Plus, I’d rather get to know her more before I take that step forward. If I even want to.
Thank God I had enough ingredients on me…
“What about you?”
“Hm?” I perk up as Meteria spins around on my lap, now sitting with her left side against my chest so she could tilt her head up at me.
“What is it that you want to do in life?” Now that’s a good questions.
I have so many paths open before me due to me being capable of Cultivating, and I can become so many things.
An Alchemist that makes wondrous medicines.
A Blacksmith that makes weapons capable of atomizing entire continents.
A Talisman Scholar, capable of controlling Reality itself with words and slips of paper.
Or a Rune Master, someone that writes Runes into the air or onto weapons, granting them mystical effects. They can even create Arrays that speed up cultivation, or defend Sects for tens of thousands of years.
I have so many paths before me, I can even become a God if I want to… But I kinda don’t?
I’d rather live my life as a mortal, than lose my humanity as I waste my life away chasing something that might bring mere temporary satisfaction.
I blink when a strange sense of warmth fills my body, but it swiftly fades away the moment I take notice of it.
Weird.
“You see, I follow a… Creed, of sort.” I smile softly as I hug Meteria close. “It’s called Dao, or Tao, if you want.”
“The Dao is the absolute principle underlying the Universe itself, combining within itself the principles of Yin and Yang – Good and Evil– and signifying the way, or code of behaviour, that is in harmony with the natural order.”
“It can be interpreted as in… Broadening your mind and being, and becoming one with things.” My eyes flick to the sword resting against my desk. “To become one with your Sword.” My thoughts fall on my Furnace. “To become one with Medicine.”
“Or become one with Nature and everything in between Heaven and Earth, so that mere mundane needs and struggles never manage to even cause a ripple in your heart, mind and Soul.”
Meteria’s eyes widen with surprising understanding. “It’s… Inner Peace, then.” I chuckle heartily at that.
“Yeah, it can also be interpreted as that.” For me, the Dao is exactly that.
Interpreting things however you want to, and making that your Creed. Your Dao.
The way you live your life. Be it Yin or Yang, good or bad.
“So, you seek Inner Peace?” Meteria questions cutely, and I take in a breath.
“Yeah.” I nod after a few seconds. “Yeah, I think I am.”
The crash. The blood.
“Why?”
I pat her head and smile softly as I ward those memories away. “Just a mistake that I did in the past, and still plagues me to this day.” Her eyes fill with worry, and one of her hands come up to gently cup my cheek.
I swiftly reach up and tickle her sides, making her squeak and struggle within my grasp before she jumps off my lap with a big adorable pout.
So I stand and stretch myself, giving her an amused smile when I catch her staring.
This time her face doesn’t go dark red, and instead she gives me a big lecherous grin.
So I flick her nose. “Let’s go get breakfast, you perverted gremlin.” She blows a raspberry at me as I fix my shirt and walk to my desk.
I hear Meteria walk to the door and open it as I grab my sword, then pause when I hear a nervous chuckle come from her.
“Uhm… Riley?” I blink, then turn towards the door.
And lock eyes with Meteria’s very murderous looking older twin.

Of all the people Hera had thought would jump into Riley’s bed on the very first night…
Meteria definitely was not among them!

Hera barely held back the snort at Riley’s chiding tone, especially due to how he is chiding someone older than him… Yet far less mature, in her eyes.
She kind of wanted to intervene, but seeing how her whole Familia was watching with interest… Well, she might as well enjoy the show and step in only if it gets ugly.
“I do not want you sullying my sister.” Alfia nearly growls out, her heterochromatic eyes alight with anger.
Riley sniffs. “Okay.” He then tilts his head at Meteria. “Have I sullied you, pretty lady?”
Meteria giggles like a maiden in love at Riley’s words, making Hera and the other women fear they might get diabetes from such a sweet sight.
“Nope!” And then she cups her flushed cheeks and wiggles in place. “You made me feel very good all night long though!” Oh dear…
“A-All night long? What a beast!”
“I want to be next!”
“I want him to ravage my womb already!”
“How did sweet Meteria beat us?!”
“I mean… It’s Meteria. Of course she’d beat us lowly mortals.”
“...Fair enough.”
And now her Familia was alight with jealousy and already fantasizing what the two did the whole night.
Hera sighs and facepalms at just how thirsty her girls are.
At least Kirin is kind of- Ah no, she’s gritting her teeth and clenching her hands into fists, thinking no one could see her.
Alfia sighs deeply through her nostrils, nearly looking like an enraged bull, her cheeks aflame due to her younger sister’s words.
“Stay away from her.” She growls out yet again, but alas, Riley just blinks at her.
“Okay.” He repeats flatly. “Who are you to dictate her life?” Alfia flinches, and Riley smirks. “Actually, I’ll do you one better. Tell your sister to stay away from me.” Ooooh…
Everyone could hear Alfia’s neck creaking as she slowly turns to look at her sparkling and still giggling younger sister.
Riley wiggles his brows with a very punchable smirk on his face. “Do it. Tell her.” He eggs on, and this time Hera does snort.
This was the first time she saw Alfia on the back-foot, and damn… Is she absolutely fucking loving the sight!
Hah! Take that, you talented big titted bitch!
Gritting her teeth, Alfia flips towards Riley with an even more flushed face. “I’ll fight you for it!” She shouts, and Hera’s eyes widen at the fact that this is the first time she saw the woman before her even raise her voice.
“I refuse.” Riley yawns out without a care. “You’re making this stuff up all for yourself, not even realizing that I can just leave, and Meteria will once more have just a few years left to live.”
His gaze, usually warm and friendly, turns absolutely chilling the very next moment. “So now I really want to know if you’re stupid, or you are just acting like it.” Alfia flinches harshly at that, clearly not having thought about what would happen if she pisses off Riley and drives him away.
Hera nearly steps in at that, not wanting the girls siscon driven idiocy to fuck up their only chance at healing their beloved Meteria, but yet again… she holds herself back.
“You don’t want Meteria to live her life, nor do you want her to die early while bound to a bed. Make up your fucking mind, woman.” The teen sighs deeply and shakes his head, then turns his gaze towards the large open area behind the mansion.
Then, much to Hera’s surprise, he starts walking towards it. “Whatever, come on. This might be the only way to get it through your thick skull.” Riley grumbles as he leads the way towards the training field.
“Riley.” Hera finally calls out, making the teen stop in his tracks and turn to regard her with a slightly annoyed gaze. “Are you sure about this?” She doesn’t know the limit to his strength, and the one he is going to fight is Alfia of all people.
The Monster of Talent, the quickest person to reach Level 6 in Orario, and now nearly at Level 7 too.
So she doesn’t know if he is overconfident, foolish, or he just doesn’t know who his opponent his.
He shrugs. “I know she is stronger than me.” He reveals without a care. “But strength isn’t everything, so…” With that, he turns around, only to pause again. “Just give her a sword, please.”
Hera sags her shoulders and shares a glance with Kirin.
“Let them.” Her Vice Captain suggests. “I’ll step in if things get bad.” With that reassurance, Hera takes a step back and lets the two step onto the field, with one of her Supporters swiftly bringing Alfia a simple iron sword.
“Let’s get this over with quickly, I want to eat breakfast.” Riley drawls out, and everyone could hear Alfia gritting their teeth as the two stood nearly two dozen meters away from each other.
“Gospel.” Alfia growls out the very next second, and the air booms and shudders, tearing the ground apart as her spell rushes towards Riley-
-Only for him to swat the invisible projectile away with the back of his hand, making it explode against the large walls circling the Elysian Gardens.
What the fuck?
Hera and even Kirin herself gaped at what they had just witnessed.
No, seriously, what the fuck?
Rilely blinks and stares down at his gloved hand, then turns to stare at the crater in the wall left over by the projectile he swatted away. “What the hell was that?”
A ‘swoosh!’sounds out just as he turns his head, and Hera curses him for leaving himself wide open.
Alfia had easily gotten over her own shock and capitalized on that opening to easily close the distance between the two, her sword raised and ready to hack down on Riley’s exposed body.
Only for her eyes to widen and look down when she feels a hand touch her stomach.
The air in her lungs was suddenly forced out violently as Riley sinks his fist in her stomach without even looking, sending her flying back right where she was initially standing.
And with a frown, Alfia straightens herself while tentatively touching her stomach.
“That was rude.” Riley muses, shaking the hand he used to punch her in the air while stepping out of the rubble left behind below his feet.
That’s when Alfia understands why she felt no pain.
He simply used enough force to send her flying away, while the rest he dispersed into the ground below his feet.
That just made her grit her teeth even harder. “Are you looking down on me?”
“Nope.” Riley swiftly answers without a care, then gives her an annoying grin. “I just don’t like hurting women.” His hand reaches for the handle of his sword as he says that, and Alfia feels the hair on the back of her neck stand on end as the crude blade slowly slides out of it’s sheath.
From her position, even Kirin feels a chill run down her spine, her hard trained instincts from years of fighting within the Dungeon all but screaming at her of danger.
“From the left.” Riley instructs, and Alfia barely has the time to raise a confused brow when he suddenly vanishes from his spot.
Goosebumps pop up all over her arms and back as she lifts her sword just in time to block a seemingly lazy swing from Riley, which came straight from where he said it would.
Alfia’s feet dig through the ground as a metallic bang rings through the training field, her whole arm feeling numb after blocking that blow.
“From above.” And yet again, Alfia barely raises her sword to block Riley’s falling sword, the impact so powerful it smashes her feet straight into the ground and makes both her arm and legs ache.
She had never experienced such a thing. Such powerful blows. And such speed that she could barely keep up with it.
But at the same time, Riley wasn’t fast, and he wasn’t strong… Alfia just couldn’t put her finger on how he is capable of doing such things with ease.
All she knows is that she needs to put space between them. “Gospe-gkh!” Her chant was cut short by Riley delivering a quick yet painless kick to her abdomen, yet the trick was done.
The gathered magic exploded in a dangerous Ignis Fatuus, sending her flying back, her face and chest hurting from the backlash of her own magic.
Alfia coughs and wipes the blood pouring out from her split lip, all the damage having come from her own Spell.
If it weren’t for her other Spell, the damage would have been far greater.
Her narrowed, anger filled eyes flick up to the unfazed Riley, his expression full of boredom but also a tinge of worry that stung at her pride.
“Done playing around?” He questions, twirling his crude sword without a care.
So the older twin straightens herself and sighs out of her nostrils. “You put all your strength into each blow, right?” It was a hunch, but the raised brow from Riley and the slight twitch of his lips told her everything.
“Yup, it’s also my weakness, because I can’t fight for long.” He reveals without a care, much to her shock. “It’s up to you if you want to capitalize on that, or not.” Once again, Alfia feels her pride sting.
She felt his blows, she felt how hard they were on her bones… And she knows that she can take them some more.
Those won’t be enough to break her.
Her hand wraps tightly around the handle of her sword, and Riley pauses slightly as Alfia breathes out.
Her stance relaxes, her heart calms down, and her face grows serious.
“Yes.” Alfia speaks up, locking eyes with the man who stole her sister’s heart away… And who kept giving her stone cold her hope and warmth. “I’m done playing around.”
She hated him.
He came in all of a sudden, right when she had given up hope.
And then he set it alight yet again, surprising her that a mere kindle of it was still alight.
And Riley kept blowing on it, feeding air to that heat, making it grow greater and greater.
Making her watch her usually sickly sister glow with happiness and run around like she should have always been.
The sister who, for the longest time, she thought she stole everything from.
Talent, health, lifespan- Everything!
And then he comes and says- “There is no difference between your sickness and hers.” Oh how she hated him when he said those words.
How she hated him for flipping her life around so quickly.
How she hated him for destroying the pure facts she herself put in her own head, so to hate herself more.
And oh, how she hated that damned smile of his!
“Why are you smiling?” She questions through gritted teeth, her heartbeat once more out of her control, her face flushed with… with anger!
He’s mocking her! Looking down on her!
Riley shrugs, and Alfia relents when she sees that flash of hurt in his eyes. “Just jealous.” He reveals, much to her shock and confusion. “I wish I could have care for my siblings as much as you do for Meteria.”
He had siblings?
But Alfia couldn’t ponder on that question for a bit more, because she suddenly launched herself forward.
She, who had immense control over her emotions since young, lost control for the first time in her life.
Her eyes reddened with anger, her chest heaved with fury, and her sword screamedthrough the air with wrath.
The ground below Alfia’s feet ruptured upward, collapsing from the force of her take off, and the air boomed as her sword cleaved through it with her whole strength backed up behind it.
Riley could die if her blade landed.
And she didn’t want him to.
But at the same time, she couldn’t control herself.
Riley’s sword flick, and a burst of energy she couldn’t quite place buffeted against her face.
His foot stomps on the ground with enough force to collapse the whole training fields, both of his hands gripping the handle of his sword.
And a roaring dome of pitch black energy engulfs his sword, soaring out of it like a tidal wave and turning the ground it comes into contact with into powder.
And much to Alfia’s shock… All sounds disappeared when that black wave of energy came into being.
The sounds she oh so hated… all disappeared before the blackest black she had ever seen.
The now pitch black sword moves. “Kunpeng Heaven-Splitting Blade.” Came Riley’s voice, and with his voice came a rumble from the very world itself.
As if it refused to admit the existence of such a thing.
Alfia gasps when she hears that familiar name.
The name of the creature that went against the very Gods and Heavens.
The Kun, who refused to be a mere Fish trapped in the water.
And so, after countless tries and tribulations, the Kun defied the will of the Gods and jumped out of the water… And spread it’s Peng wings, soaring through the air and living it’s life like it wished, and leaving behind the legend of the Kunpeng after that.
Oh how she wished to be like the Kunpeng...
Spreading her wings, shattering the chains binding her and her sister’s life, and dictating them how they deemed fit.
Riley’s sword slashed upward, filling her vision with black and erasing all the sound around her, leaving her within an empty void for a short second.
And within that void, Alfia felt a weird emotion. One she had never experienced before.
‘Ah… Who would’ve thought I’d be jealous of my sister…’
The void faded away, sound came back, and her gaze flicked upward, towards the clouds high in the sky.
And the large gash left behind in them, allowing the sun to pour down as she falls on her butt.
Her eyes fall down, staring at the line drawn by the sunlight between her and Riley. A dividing line, of sorts.
He had truly split the Heavens.
A man without Falna had reached such incredible heights.
He likely shattered his own chains and spread his wings, while she… While she needed a crutch to even wield the paltry amount of power she has at her disposal.
‘What did I even do this whole time? Are all the years I’ve thrown into becoming this strong even worth it?’
Her gaze falls on the man that had defeated her. “I hate you.” And those words flowed out of her lips without her control. “Why couldn’t you come sooner?”
But he was beyond that wall, beyond that dividing line that will forever separate the two of them- He steps through it with that hateful smile of his.
‘Of course… He does what he wants. Not even the Heavens can dictate how he lives his life now.’ And he offers her his callouses filled, chain-breaking hand.
Alfia’s stone-cold heart was left covered in cracks at that.
Her hand rises, but she hesitates soon after.
She wants to take his hand so much, but will she willingly do that when she knows that Meteria’s heart his already his?
Will she truly be fine watching them from afar?
Only for Riley to reach forward and take her hesitating hand in his strong and warm one.
‘Oh Riley, you are truly a greedy man indeed…’Alfia stands, her eyes blurry and avoiding meeting Riley’s own.
She feared that if she did, the stone armor around her heart would finally crumble away.
“We should spar again sometimes!” Riley chuckles, sounding very out of breath, perhaps having given it his all to unleash that terrifying attack.
“The Kunpeng…” Alfia speaks up, hesitatingly glancing his away. She isn’t shy, just nervous!“Do you… like his story?”
Riley blinks, then shrugs. “It’s inspiring.” He says softly. “He refused to let his life be dictated by a higher power, so he tried and failed, tried and failed, over and over again…”
“Until he shattered the chains binding his destiny and life, and soared into the skies by spreading his wings.” His hand falls to his hip, and Alfia finds herself looking into his bright and warm eyes.
Ah, she’s done it now.
“That’s how free I want to be- Hm?” Riley blinks, then tilts his head as he watches Alfia… run away?
Hera could only gape at the sight, the silence around being deafening as everyone witnesses an unforgettable sight.
The stone-cold Alfia… Run away from a man while cupping her brightly flushed cheeks, and with an enormous smile on her face.
“That kid’s overpowered…” Hera mutters below her breath.
“D-Did he just move Alfia’s heart?”
“Is he aiming for a threesome with the twins?! How ambitious!”

“Hm?” The Goddess lifts her gaze towards the sky, raising a brow when dark, nearly pitch black clouds gather right above her mansion.
Bright purple lighting flashes and arcs below the clouds, gathering towards the spinning center as she narrows her eyes.
“Oh for fuck’s sake…” Came Riley’s voice.
Boom!
Before he was struck by lighting right before all of them.
Boom!
Twice.
And that’s when the clouds start fading away, clearly having done their job.
And Hera finds her belly filling with wrath as everyone rushes towards the crater to check on Riley.
“ZEEEEEUUUUUUSS!” Hera bellows towards the very Heavens.
“IS THIS HOW YOU FACE ME!? COWARD!”
Wait… Riley said he can make any kind of Pill, right?
Then, can he make super strong laxatives?
Hera’s dark, malevolent chuckles soon filled the air.
