I wanted to talk about some plans for the future, as well as have a somewhat serious discussion about the Patreon. Those of you who have been here for a little while will remember I previewed a new game I've been building on the side when I hit 50 patrons. Seeing as how I've finally finished all the remakes, this feels like a good time to take a break and finish the first build of that game.
I know some of you will probably be disappointed that the next build of second class will be delayed a little, but I'd like to explain my reasoning. For the last 3-4 months the Patreon has stayed mostly stable around $400 a month, and I'm honestly not sure if it can go much higher with the current state of the Patreon. To be clear, if this is the highest the Patreon can go, I would still keep making the game. At some point though, I would probably have to say to myself I can't keep working 20-30 hours a week on the game on top of my full time job.
With all of this in mind, I'm trying to build this new game with a little more mass appeal. Don't worry, this does not mean that I'll be avoiding hardcore fetishes. It just means I will be focusing on more attractive models and using the renpy engine. I'm hoping that this will bring a larger audience to the Patreon. That would allow me to work less at my normal job, and focus more on the game.
I'm not trying to bum anyone out. Despite what I just said, I feel really good about making the game. I'm having a great time, and making something I'm really proud of. I just want to try everything I can to achieve my dream of doing this full time.
I also think you all will really like this new game. Renpy allows me to display the images in full hd, so I can create much higher quality renders. Oh, if anyone has a good name for the new game let me know. I'm terrible at naming things.

The problem with lower patron fees is patreon and the credit card companies take a bigger cut of the money. At 1$ I get only a small portion of the money, while at $5 and up I get the majority of it.

Perhaps you should think about the patreon fees. I think the price of 5 dollar at start could be little much for someone and it could lower the amount of your supporters?

It was a lot of little things that made the setting feel very oppressive. Men didn't have any rights, women could legally do whatever they wanted and the women in Eric's life exploited that to be overly sadistic and treat him as subhuman. The original choices didn't really feel like choices because no matter what you did it ended in pain and humiliation that he didn't really deserve. You cleared that up immensely in the later updates by giving Eric a lot more agency than he had before (even as far back as the original Day 2 which got me back into the game). Some people are into that and that's fine, but for me it felt like Eric was trapped in an abusive household and basically gaslighted into being submissive. Again, you've pretty much gotten rid of that in the current version both through the new choices and some reworked dialogue. The main thing I would say to avoid is choices where the player's input doesn't matter. Good and bad are subjective as Hell for this kind of thing, so I can't speak for anyone but myself.

If you don't mind, could you explain what turned you off originally? Just trying to avoid past pit-falls with the new game.

I'm completely onboard with you branching out. There's a lot of high quality ren'py stuff out there and you've got the writing chops to compete with them. I'll fully admit that the initial Second Class release really turned me off from it and it wasn't until the Gentle route that I came onboard. So I'm eager to see what you can do with a more generalized setting.

Also for name suggestions, I'm going to need at least the premise and some background :P Edit: You know what, scratch that. You have a futa, you're in what looks to be a school setting, I'm going to say to keep your "class" theme (Though thats not the intention of the first game) this one should be called: "Second Bell"

Okay, but the real question: Jessica still going to be giving the introductions? (J/K, I really hope this works out for you. I've felt for a long time you're very underrated, hopefully this pulls in more people. I don't even think its the content matter, some people just see "RPGM" and auto skip)
