🕑 Added 2024-05-27 21:58:34 +0000 UTCHi everyone. I hope you have all been enjoying 0.8 and the conclusion to the Reign of Jess. I'll do a proper retrospective on this after the public release, as it's the sort of thing that makes a great Wednesday post, but for now, let's talk a little about that ending and more importantly, what it means going into Act 2 and the mini-update. Needless to say, today's post contains spoilers for Chapter Six, so if you haven't played it yet, stop reading now and come back when you have!
Right, so anyway, feedback on the ending has been largely positive, though some of you have expressed that you think it would have been better without the memory wipe. Even allowing for copious pron logic, I'm sure you can see, however, why I felt the need to do this. This is the sort of story that I could have put in at the very end of the game and what happens happens, but this is an idea that's existed for four years now and I didn't want to wait any longer. So to be able to go back to normal - and that's what I want to do now, I want to go back to making classroom events of an angry Miss Paris making her girls get naked - the whole problem of Jess controlling her needed to go away.
But that's not to say that this renders this part of the story meaningless, (even after you consider that we've already seen with Scarlett that the drug can fail, which opens up writing space,) even though Miss Paris, Jess, Abbie, the bad girls and maybe Missy have all forgotten, the rest of the school hasn't. And that's not the only problem...
Enter the Headmistress
There are now 12 quests in Missy. Let's look at some of the things have have happened in them. The girls have snuck drugs and alcohol into the school. The wrestling club were punished en masse for misbehaviour. Jess took Missy's legs out with a hockey stick and repeatedly injured Abbie in football. And even if Missy herself has been a good girl and not got into fights in the orchard, been stripped for lateness or got put on the plinth in red underwear, the bad girls have still committed various heinous acts such as framing a girl for pulling skirts up, leaving school property without permission, repeatedly bullying other girls, wearing incorrect panties and even attacking Missy at the gate.
This is all to say that behavioural standards at the school have been... lax. And now, with the events of chapter 4 added to this, the teachers are going to strike back hard. Finally, the headmistress herself, Miss Gloria Whorle will enter our story, and her arrival also clears away one of the last remaining barriers to my being able to offer Miss Paris's relationship quest!
We'll learn more on this over the coming weeks, but for now, get ready, because if you thought Alancia's was bad before, you aint seen nothing yet!

I really like the direction of fleshing out the school day more. There are already a few events, where you can get Missy or someone else in trouble. These kind of decisions and consequences are the most enjoyable to me. This will be even more fun with more events and harsher punishments. I bet you think of stuff like "You are not wearing the correct underwear? Consider yourself constantly underwear checked from now on, because you won't wear a skirt for a week" and I love it already! The relationship quest with Miss Paris offers some interesting scenarios as well. Will she be harsher to Missy, to disguise her feelings? Or will she take Missy's side and punish her bullies? Or will she leave this decision to the Missy? I am looking forward to your future ideas and am confident in your abilities.

Well it was a fun addition, I'd like to think that with Missy's mother still alive Jess moved her way to the top of the illegal slaver grab list.

I knew Jess was crazy, but the girl is bloody mental.. Didnt there use to be a quest where Missy could hook up with one of the prefects?

Can you give me some examples of the decisions you had to make with no save? Off the top of my head, I thought early Chapter 6 was quite linear.

I liked the last update a lot and I am very excited about the outlook. I think your creativity is really amazing. It is quite amazing how you design the world, the characters and come up with all the different plots that unfold in them. Before one can even implement any of this (renders, programming and all), the entire world has to be created and it takes an extraordinary amount of imagination to come up with all of this. If anything could be improved, here are some topics: First, when I played Chapter 6, I felt like I was confronted with some critical decisions where I could not judge the outcome / impact and I had no chance to save the game first. Some of the decisions come after a long line of interactive play where the player has no possibility to save the game in between. For me it is a bit frustrating when I am confronted with decisions that I cannot judge what they will lead to if I cannot find a good way to come back to them later. I know what I am looking for in the game (what kind of story development I prefer) but I cannot say how decisions pan out. Second, even though there are very nice lewd scenes, but I don't really see the escalation lately. What I mean by this: In the early chapters, the lewdness of the game escalated step by step. But now, it seems to have reached a limit at the moment and we see more of the same. There are some forms of escalation (example: threesomes, group activities, public activities, fighting, etc.) that I think could fit the story and I wonder if this could be taken into consideration. Finally, there are status levels (sluttiness and dominance) that you can check in Missy's room. I don't see how they impact anything. Will they ever impact anything or is it just a side feature? Having said all this, if the game were to continue as it has played out so far, I would still be more than a happy camper.

I hope the headmistress is a hot milf, and if going by her wiki entry is anything to go about, I think I'm going to enjoy her involvement at the school. Like this one sounds like fun to see Missy go through it at some point, "being banned from wearing parts of their uniform." In terms of the 0.8 I thought it was great. It's so good that all my "complaints" (for lack of a better word) would be all greedy consumer type of always wanting more. (Eg more Missy scenes, a game over scene for Jess winning, etc), but those are just a reflection how much I enjoyed the game and want more it.

I really enjoyed this update. It was nice getting some lore about the outside world, and Sappory's relationship to it. In terms of erotic scenes, Missy and Abbie's humiliations, the bad ending, and Missy's revenge on Jess were all great. I can definitely see why at the very least having Jess and Miss Paris forget was necessary to get back to anything resembling the status quo. But I appreciate the option of having Missy remember, and hope that factors into later content. Having all of characters central to this arc forget about it would have been a bit disheartening. I'm looking forward seeing the Headmistress enter the story. Particularly because it will mean having an authority figure above Miss Paris around.

Can’t wait. I hope in the future that the reign of Jess will have a game over sequence where Missy stays as a slave forever, but I’m happy if that’s not the case. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
