The update is so beautiful, it scares me a little. Maybe it's the wind chimes and lacewings in the night. It's too early for cicadas, but I hear them anyway. They draw me through to those old houses and winding dark roads, so thick with memory that each silent door seems like a lost little cemetery. I can feel the storm coming.

Elsa's reaction to Wes's flowers mirrors exactly how I feel about bouquets. Oh, you thought they were beautiful so you ripped them out of the ground..? How...thoughtful.

Oh my goodness, this gave me the chills for poor Elsa. My favorite detail is possibly the reappearance of the fireflies from Voodooienne... the indicators of the path to corruption, crossroads, and darkness. The bugs never circle Elsa, only the two henchmen, Wes and Fish. Also, the flowers Wes gives Elsa are suspiciously marigold-tinted compared to the pale blue/soft gold tinges of the flowers Elsa was arranging. Not to mention the daisies on Elsa's nightgown - change of loyalties, perhaps? I'm smelling some symbolism... Lackadaisy updates make me space happy as nothing else does. Thank you for creating, Ms. Butler!
