I'll second the notion that Lackadaisy benefits from the variety of coloring approaches. I dunno how much that feedback from the peanut gallery figures into presentation decisions, but I agree with N. Kip that greyscale / sepia / color in your hands are welcome ways to focus on a tone, rather than 'unfinished'.

Personally, I like the grayscale with a few hints of color a lot! Actually I always loved the sepia tones and little usage of color in the early bits of your comic; it’s what had drawn me to read Lackadaisy. In my opinion it really adds to the moodyness of the setting and story, and gives off just the right old-timey feel. Not that I dislike the color; absolutely not! The usage of more color in the comic is beautiful as well and it gives it a more realistic feel to it and make the events feel more “real”, like watching a movie. But seeing these work in progress pieces of this particular scene, I do think that the grayscale adds a lot to how dramatic it is; the same you did in the Victor and Mordecai flashback scene. The grayscale with a few hints of color to accentuate light makes it seem all the more dramatic and that’s something I personally always loved (and find inspiring) about Lackadaisy. Either way, color or not, the comic has always been beautiful and visually very pleasing to look at.
