I really forgot to mention this part. The copper/nickel solution from the first part can be recycled and used to "wash" more PCBs. I totally spaced on the disposal/usage of the waste liquid... The aqua regia waste is disposed of. Aqua regia loses it's strength pretty quickly.
What about the other metals on a PCB like copper etc, do they just get thrown out with the Aqua Regia mix?

Thanks for this! I actually own an IT company and have been giving all our scrap parts away for free for years (knowing they had Gold in them). Time to scale up your method to some 20l drums I think!!
