What? Haha Levi is not concerned about his pride as the "best soldier" he's never implied that or said anything to make someone think that too. He has always been fair and realistic, if a weapon greater than Levi appeared he would be glad to use it to aide humanity. He is also very intrigued by Eren from his response saying he'll kill all the titans, Levi likes that conviction from Eren which is the main reason why he told Erwin he'll handle him. Don't want to speak too much on his character for the future but up until now it's very clear he cares about his comrades (Grabbed his bloodied dying soldiers hand when he is a clean freak) and respects those above him (Listens to Erwin and follows higher ups command) and of course cares about the less fortunate (Critiques the royal/rich people in the court)

I never liked Levi when most people fall for him cause I know he actually have a little envy forEren cause all of his effort and becoming best soldier of humanity doesn't mean anything not until Eren become an x-factor.
