Not knowing Leary but observing from the outside, the guy had all the makings of a serious narcissist. Multiple failed marriages. Megalomania.

Being a person that grew up in the age of Leary and met him (he was a friend of my brothers) i can say he was a dick and a media whore. He was the face of LSD and he knew it so his antics in the press was all blamed on his LSD use making it appear as if anyone that used it ended up being a complete lunatic. I understand your defense of him because you did not grow up watching this clown while trying to defend your own hallucinogenic use. I appreciate your show more than you will ever know because i never thought i would live long enough to see someone defend the freedom to use whatever a person chooses in my lifetime.
