Project WIP update - Alinga and Alkina
🕑 Added 2017-01-04 19:31:32 +0000 UTC WELL WHADDYA KNOWOkay, so first of all, this is VERY unfinished. The fur color map is a very rudimentary test one. It will look very different. Some things still need tweaking, and I need to work some more on the grooming in some areas which you probably can't see. This is the basic control stage; I'll be finetuning it tomorrow and onward.

I honestly still don't know if I like the idea of giving them fur. XD There's just something really nice about the way her face looked without it. Dunno. I'll keep working on this and see how it works for Alkina once this one is finished. Whatever I decide, the work I'm doing now won't go to waste, because I also want to make ECMajor's Cailey. ;U; AND SHE HAS FUR. Basically we'll just have to see how this comes out in the end, and then we will all decide. One thing I definitely don't like are some technical difficulties, but oh well, nothing is perfect. Either way it went better than I expected already, and that's pretty great.
Also hey.
Two million hairs only for the fur, plus around 150,000 for the hair. Times two, because two roos. Or three, if you also count Cailey. THAT'S A LOT OF HAIR
But the best thing is that rendering it requires as little as 5gb of RAM, and as much as 8gb so far. Was terrified of this. Turns out I didn't have to. Maybe. It's pretty damn slow to render tho.

After a couple more days of work, I am fully convinced about the fur; I want it to stay. ;v; I'll post an update soon! :D

I've been working on the fur a lot, and now it's looking very good, even though it's still unfinished, SO THAT'S GREAT. I'm entirely convinced about it - including the face! SO YAY Glad you like, also!

YES! She's so cute!!! Ok, so I was going to say that you could always make the hair on the face much shorter, because I also think that the face looked better bare. But, then I saw the <b>VERY IMPORTANT</b> picture and saw that there is actually much longer hairs on various other parts of the body. So it's honestly up to you and any nay sayers on the matter. You prolly should make a pole on dA which ones people like more. Cause this is a major style change. I think she looks very nice and soft. A lot like a teddy bear. Very nice texture and would make cuddling amazing. But, I can't see the special place... we need to see more of the important areas to really judge if this fur can stay or not. Cause that's what I feel is quite important too. I'm deciding more for, keep the fur, now that I see how cute she looks. Oh geez all those little tufts of hair you sprinkled about. Oh geez they look so good. The chest and ears. She looks so beautiful!

Sooooo... fuzzy.... must touch... must brush... Without writing a novel to say how much I love it, the render looks great. I like Alkina's fuzzy body, but I agree a skinlike face has a bit more personality. Still, use the fur version for this one, if noly to keep testing your skill! :3
