If the install gets stuck on "checking blacklist" or any other error please make sure you've uninstalled the previous version and there's enough storage space available on your Quest.
Make sure you unzip the APK file before trying to sideload it.
Changelist:
- NEW: Passthrough environment - You can now create scenes in your own house! Pose characters on real furniture and see your real life body. This is very cool and immersive, it adds a new dimension to the game and will be super cool with colour passthrough on the Quest Pro. To use passthrough just create a new scene and select the Passthrough level.
- NEW: Settings for controlling passthrough colour, brightness, contrast and a toggle for the floor visibility.
- NEW: Texture importing. It's now possible to import any Daz Genesis 3/8 skins or makeup/tattoos. There are thousands of these available on Daz 3D and you can even make your own in an image editing app. The Quest has limited GPU memory so I've decided to limit this to one texture slot per UV map. This means it's not quite as advanced as the PC version with specular, normal, roughness etc. but you can still completely change the look of the character with custom skins and decals!
- NEW: 6 new hairstyles + Shaved head option. This helps a lot with character variation, hair physics will be added later.
- NEW: 5 new preset makeup styles.
- NEW: 4 new preset tattoos.
- NEW: Updated to hand tracking 2.0 and increased tracking frequency.
- NEW: Improved hand tracking physics. This means characters no longer jump away suddenly when you touch them, it feels a lot more like the hand physics from the PC version and they respond a lot better to touch than before. You can easily insert your fingers in their mouth, pussy etc.
- NEW: Anal beads toy for Asstronaut level patrons.
- NEW: Doe strapon toy.
- Improved: Added expandable areas to the settings menu for better organisation
- Improved: Updated engine to 4.27.
- Improved: Characters, Scenes and TextureImport folders are now created on first launch.
- Fixed: Bug where the hair would sometimes reset after scaling a character.
- Fixed: Giant characters not saving correctly.
- Fixed: Giant toys not saving correctly.
- Fixed: After switching from hand tracking back to controllers the grab button would sometimes stop working.
- Fixed: The leg Next/Previous buttons were inverted in the materials settings.
- Fixed: Skin wetness not working on male characters.
- Fixed: Gap in the legs UV seam when Skin 3 is applied
- Fixed: Voice settings not saving.
- Fixed: Giant mode for toys was not working for galactic trader patrons.
- Fixed: Character scale not saving correctly.
- Known issue - Some translucent materials do not render correctly in the passthrough environment (for example fluids are not visible against the passthrough background). This is a limitation of the engine and unlikely to be fixable.
- Known issue - Skin collision is not accurate enough for the hand physics, need to work on this in the future.
How to import textures:
To load Daz 3D textures into the game place them in the "Internal shared storage\UE4Game\FluidGame\FluidGame\TextureImport" folder (You can use sub folders to organise them).
Now in the game select a character and go to the materials tab, you'll see a small open file button for each UV area (face, torso, arms, legs).

Press the open file button and a file browser will appear where you can select the image you want to use. When you save the character or scene the textures will be saved with it and will always be loaded on to the character as long as they still exist inside the TextureImport folder.
Important Notes:
The Quest can handle 4k textures but they'll fill up the memory quickly. If you're importing a lot of textures I'd recommend using 2k or 1k as you'll be able to import at least 3-4 times more before hitting the memory limit. They'll also load quicker. Once texture memory is full a warning will be shown in the materials menu and you might notice some textures go blurry. If this happens restart the game to clear the cache and everything will be back to normal.
- Textures must be mapped to the Daz Gen 3/8 UV maps. Templates can be downloaded from here if you want to create your own (you must be logged in to a Daz account to access them).
- 4k Textures can take a few seconds to load, smaller textures will load a lot faster.
- Supports .jpg or .png files. Other formats may work but haven't been tested.
- Transparent png's are supported and are useful for creating makeup and tattoo decals.
- Textures should have power of two sizes (4096x4096, 2048x2048, 1024x1024 etc).
The game will ask for Patreon verification on first launch. A login page will open inside the Quest browser where you can copy the key, then return to the game, press paste and activate. If you have any issues with this please message me with details of the problem and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Thank you all for the amazing support! π½

Hi, you need to download from the links on the patreon page, and then follow the guide below closely. If you get stuck then please let me know what step you are getting stuck on. https://captain-hardcore.com/how-to-sideload-captain-hardcore-on-quest-1-and-2/

APK file is only downloadable via Android, which I don't have. Tried to download the installer from windows but won't open so can't access the game.

AZ gave me a solution that solved the install for me: It could be worth uninstalling the game completely and trying again. To uninstall it when it hasn't shown up, you can do the following: In the top menu of Sidequest, clikc the Run ADB commands button, then Custom Command, entering the uninstall command below. adb uninstall com.AntiZeroGames.CH

Hi, did they both install successfully the first time without any error? It could be worth uninstalling the game completely and trying again. To uninstall it when it hasn't shown up, you can do the following: In the top menu of Sidequest, clikc the Run ADB commands button, then Custom Command, entering the uninstall command below. adb uninstall com.AntiZeroGames.CH It may be worth disabling antivirus while installing the game again in case it has blocked any files.
Screwdriverbob
Have both files installed but cannot find them in unknown sources. Nor in the file manager. Where did the installed files go?
Screwdriverbob
Did all this with successful download on sidequest but the game is nowhere on the headset. Anyone find a solution?

Here is the updated installation guide: https://captain-hardcore.com/how-to-sideload-captain-hardcore-on-quest-1-and-2/ Make sure you install the .apk file and the .obb file. If you have problems getting the files to upload through SideQuest, then try a different usb cable or port.

Links to skins I have found and work so far https://www.renderhub.com/harts3d/summer-day-for-genesis-8-female-by-harts3d and https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/87908/free-skin

Like you said Tommy, it must be both .APK and .OBB I had the same infinite load scree issue ,because I just downloaded just the APK file , lesson learnt I should have read the instructions given properly), hope this checklist will help anyone, if needed 1) Uninstall old version from headset 2) Download the APK file 3) Unzip 4) Download.APK and .OBB files to your computer 5) Transfer to headset (if you get issues, with transferring these files to your headset use one of the other file download providers links and download these to your computer again and try with them) 6) Launch App in headset 7) Any issues re-start headset
Tommy
If you are stuck at infinite loop you have to install both files .APK and .OBB. It works just fine.

I'm having the infinite loading screen on quest 2 also. Idk what to do besides a factory reset
AntiZero
Hi, sometimes the files can be seen as a threat, but they are not. If they are being quarantined or deleted by your antivirus, then you should disable it while you sideload the files, then make sure you enable your antivirus afterward.
AntiZero
Hi, if you still can't get this to work, try restarting the device and turning the hand tracking feature on and off, that has fixed this issue before.
AntiZero
Hi, I have seen this problem before, try uninstalling your SideQuest and Oculus/Meta app and reinstalling them. Sometimes the USB cable or USB port can also cause this, so try different cables and ports.
Michael Schenck
I'm also experiencing an infinite loading screen. I did uninstall the previous version, successfully install this version (via SideQuest) and when I run the game it just does the three-dot loading forever. This is on an Oculus Quest (not Quest 2)
gREATG
try using a usb 2.0 port
Kevin Hawksford
I did that and it still doesnt show up even after restarting.
Jojo

After lay aside the controls, my hands won't pop out in passthrough mode. Strangely the "O" and menu symbols can be seen and work, but just can't track my hands.

agreed, i really can't tell if what i'm looking at is actually going to work or not. can't wait for people to start posting their own in discord

has sidequest just stopped working properly for anyone else? last 2 updates ive just ended up skipping bc i tried to sideload it and sidequest just refuses to recognize my quest2... ive looked and looked for solutions but cant find any info on the issue. whole problem is just that sidequest just indefinitely says "connecting..." and never recognizes quest. i never even get the prompt on my quest to allow it to connect to sidequest. but i do know my mac is recognizing my quest bc the prompt to allow file transfer comes up...

Checked it out. Passthrough is simply amazing. Now we need a bit more objects and furniture to decorate and replicate the real world.
AntiZero
Hi, did you unzip the download achieve with a program like 7zip first? You then need to sideload the .apk file first, and then then .obb file.
AntiZero
Hi, here is the installation guide for the Quest. https://captain-hardcore.com/how-to-sideload-captain-hardcore-on-quest-1-and-2/ Remember to unzip the download archive with a program like 7zip. Sideload the .apk file first, then the .obb file.

Newbie here, how do sideload? Just subscribed to try this.

When I try to load it, I just get the loading animation (with the three dots) indefinitely. Then the next time it seems to crash immediately. And the following time back to three loading dots forever again. On Quest 2.
Pierre
Impressive how much new stuff you put into this update. I was hoping since a long time that you will take on implementing passthrough and now it is here. Can't wait to try this out. I hope one day Meta will enable spacial anchoring, that we can easily align scenes with the real world.

Does anybody know how to find good textures to import? Pass through is awesome!! I love the way you did it, very intuitive and basically no set-up involved.
