Marquess

I wonder which category Arsenic falls into. It’s a well known poison, but it’s also a metalloid (like tin). Would it’s conceptual usage overrule its chemical foundation?

Quyan640

If grey is weight and not stone, copper could basically be a stone version of a silver slime. I bet there are a lot of strong stone in the world. Moreover a Crystalline slime would be cool.

Quyan640

Can’t most metals be used as poison? Likewise pure oxygen and water can be lethal.

CataFlan

Not exactly...

Imagine Baggins

Shouldn't sampling Lead also count as sampling a new poison?

Imagine Baggins

will

So, the way I understood it, the dwarves have a way to turn the metal slime into actual metal. Or at least I really hope that is the case. Because then, Syl could learn to do the same, and basically 3D print any weapon or tool she could want. She could make normally impossible to make enchanted objects by having the runes inscribed INSIDE a solid piece of metal! And hell, maybe she can even pick up a Blacksmith Class, and she could exclusively use the occupation points to improve the Skills that improve the end product without a need to invest in those that improve her technique. And once she gets around to doing some Slime-based Alchemy and starts combining all three occupations. Well, wouldn't she be able to make some VERY interesting things?

Jason Hardman

Well, she’s got the ingredient for a good bronze statue impression already.

Jason Hardman

Slower levels is likely correct. The early levels are easy to train, but the latter ones slow down, so then popping cores will speed things up.

matt

Not if they never leave their forest cities ;)

matt

So, so many of them.

Oof Oof

Not so little silver pills

ReadingObsessed

Little blue pill?

ReadingObsessed

That's so cool!! I see some great synergies. Really looking forward to her playing around and finding new and unexpected alloys.

Bi-Dailey

Huh, Syl could mimic having (poison coated) razor whips, the whips of course just being Metal Slime pseudopods

CataFlan

She's not even a year old. She'll always be our little slime!

JAndy

Initially I thought the alloys were discovered when all of their consituent elemental metals were, partly because unwanted alloys were mentioned as a reason the dwarves try to prevent silver slimes from getting multiple metals, partly because the alloys discovered here came right after the last elemental metal needed for them were discovered. But if that were the case, discovering copper after already having tin should have revealed bronze.

Engineer4God

Tank oo fur da chap! Wow, the comments section really blew up today!

JAndy

I was just going to comment about incoming shrapnel grenade designs. Poison would make it even worse.

JAndy

> "our little slime" "our" and "slime", sure. "little", not so much anymore. Syl has got to be way past both the median and mean in terms of slime mass and even if we only count visible size, all of Syl's forms are quite larger than the average mana farm slime. 🤪

brennon Petersen

Tftc!

Lionheart Copperhead

Thanks for the new chapter, also I really liked the brief pov from Roderick. Sly needs to get some more cores so they can mimic more ores, also what kind of crazy alloy could you make with fantasy metal and metals like tungsten and cobalt maybe even depleted Uranium. Also I wonder how carbon interacts with [Metal Slime] because its classified as a non metal but is common in metals and alloys, like tungsten carbine, and all forms of steel. Maybe there is a gem stone slime or something lol.

CataFlan

TFTC! I'm smelling the Stanton's stealing the money, fleeing and become the "hidden enemy" of Syl. With mana potions smuggling scheme, they are magically leveled up, they are confident in magic battle and are bound to be surprised with the levels and proficiency of our little slime. [Earth Magic] next chapter!!! She has already the skill revelation. 🤞 With earth Magic and lvl 5 in elementalist, she get the air magic revelation? Come faster 175!!! Typos: I can perhaps bypass the slower levels. -> lower levels. Available metals: Tin. -> [Tin]

Shai182

TFTC! Ohh experiments 🔬 oh lovely experiments 🔬 😁

Kasper Lynderup Jensen

I was always of the opinion that why does Syl need a reason beyond, i feel like it and it sounds fun. That is enough reason to join. Maybe it is not enough to stay there for long, but it was never a permanent decision and there was plenty of reasons to stay later.

Bi-Dailey

Now the question is whether slime compression is compatible with Metal Slime; if so, you can quickly get into super material territory. Also, if Syl can 'mix' Mana Slime and Metal Slime, then they can probably create some peak material for enchantment.

Bi-Dailey

Orange + Poison + Silver = poison shrapnel grenades.

BeepBoop

"I'm so going to catch Trixie and prank her when I see her!" Such prank, much funny! Like the kid that poured milk on people, peak of comedy.

Wargen

"I'm abouttamakeanamefomyselfrighhere" Love it haha

Lunadea

Or [Nitro Slime] and make some explosive coins. Lots of possibilities!

Wargen

Hand those over to the bandits and watch em drop

Wargen

Ooooh I am excited for Syl to make fun Alloys. Mithril x Admantine is probably some divine level stuff. Also I feel like if Syl ever got into a situation where they got robbed and couldn't slime out, they could have fake golden coins, valuable metals, etc, filled with toxic blends of poison and venom.

Belmont Igneul

She’s not even attempting to be human at the moment, aren’t elves supposed to be burdened with knowledge due to longevity?

Daniel Mountain

There's treatment options, don't worry.

Daniel Mountain

Except Syl isn't, and makes a lot of mistakes because she's kinda bad at passing for it.

Kazryn

Mythrile Disfunction

Lunadea

It was the main reasoning of why Syl wanted to join the adventurer's guild. It made me quite confused when a lot of people back in the day on RR were asking "why Syl even wants to join the adventurer's guild" and while a few people understood "resources!" it seemed lost in the weeds.

Denva

Yah, you hit it right on the nail.

Daniel Mountain

Whew. Not "goblins."

Crombell

I appreciate that the protagonist can plan ahead and just acquire major power boosts without a huge fuss. Might seem like odd praise, but I think most of the novel authors I'm following would invent several obstacles and random conflicts to artificially make the upgrade more "hard won", even if it'd be a statistical anomaly in the world they've created.

Belmont Igneul

To be stupid is human

Portalop

Would you really want to track an ancient warlock alchemist? And so far there havent been any mention of tracking spells of that degree

Kevin McGuire

I think it's more like 'Fuck it don't look this gift horse in the mouth.'

Bi-Dailey

TFTC

Disclancer

Hmm, wonder if sampling an alloy that they don't already have the constituent metals for also unlocks those metals, Syl should eat a pewter tankard, see if they unlock antimony and bismuth!

jonathan

Syl might end up creating a multi sphere adamant protection array around their core. I love it when that happens.

Frank Moore

Tftc!

Belmont Igneul

Damnit syl, you can’t even unpurify your slime and you select ancient civilizations shaped bottles? You’re lucky everyone’s too stupid to perform a tracking spell
