he grabbed Kaspar by the waste I agree that Kaspar is a waste of oxygen, but that really should say "waist".

mbncd

Thank you for the chapter!

meu 32

Na that's not a typo, though it should probably just be shortened to he grabbed the waste.

Mrfacemanlol

He already got most of them I think and he will get the rest if the objective is complete

Kevin McGuire

Sooo how will the demon get his years from a corpse?

jonathan

"Otherwordly" being.

Jason Hardman

He seems fanatical enough to sacrifice himself to kill an enemy of his emperor.

Mrfacemanlol

Would probably cost another 25 years of his life however Syl only has has to give him the “ bag” to get the demon to get out of the fight Syl doesn’t have to say it’s the bag he wants or let him live the second the demons contract is fulfilled

Thomas Bell

Maybe grabbing him by the waste was more litteral and involved the demon hooking his fingers

Quyan640

Moreover, would likely want to stay around longer because leaving the summoner might cause him the die and as a result desummon it.

Thomas V.

Considering the nature of the other summons, I’d be *very* surprised if any material would be left. And if it did, it might have protections against that kinda stuff because “demon shenanigans” (kinda like “Trixie shenanigans”, I guess)

Joanie

No refund 🤭

Jason Hardman

It's basically a poison acid shrapnel grenade. So yes.

Jason Hardman

One suspects that even if he honoured the deal, and withdrew the original contract, he'd probably set up a new one to kill her anyway.

Engineer4God

Tank oo fur da chap!

TFTC! Demons, demons, demons... Natural lawyers...

All you need is a body to get the profile. Even if the demon doesn't truly die maybe it would still leave a body?

Thomas V.

This demon clearly changed its form to a weakened one to match the situation and the contract, and is far from fighting at full power. So considering the amount of trouble Syl is having with *this* version, there’s no way in hell she’s powerful enough to destroy a demon thoroughly enough to be able to steal its profile. Id be very disappointed if she actually managed that. Syl is simply not competent, knowledgable or strong enough for that. Maybe she will be one day, but this demon is on a completely different level from her.

Hector Gregorio

the box will have explosive slime no?

Ozzy

I think by the terms of the deal the demon could leave whenever it felt like it. The only reason it's fighting is for it's own amusement and curiosity.

Tftc ❤️

BeepBoop

I hope it's not a typo, but a reference that he shat his pants

Plateworm

Maybe he did a butt grab xD

RainbowCatTopHat

not YET, there's always next time...

Gardor

"A good deal," the demon moaned happily. Kaspar took a moment to gather his breath, then pointed directly at me, "As per our contract, I wish for you to kill that elf!" The demon starts alluding to Syl not being an elf AFTER the deal was struck. That's the problem I'm pointing out. "The deal cannot be changed", so i guess he's fighting Syl just out of curiosity, because she isn't the elf he was contracted to kill. But also says "No, I can't flee with you, that's not the deal".

Hangman13182

And if I recall correctly the demon said you want me to kill the being called Syl since he knew Syl wasn’t an elf.

Daniel Mountain

Mwahahaha...

Hangman13182

I feel like demons are like elementals or summons. More essence than a physical body and Syl can’t consume them either. Remember Syl was unable to eat his other beasts because they broke down into energy to return to the plane they were summoned from. Gotta assume the same will happen to the demon.

Gardor

I think the demon was saying he can't run INSTEAD of fighting the "elf", like the task the demon is trying to accomplish can't be to get the summoner somewhere safe, it needs to be to fight/kill the "elf". This is obviously a problem, because Syl is not an elf. But the demon says if one of the parties of the deal wants to consider it accomplished, he'd then be free to make a second deal with the knight.

Gardor

What? No i didn't quote the negotiations, where the demon says he needs more years. That line is the opener, the demon says I want more years, the Knight agrees to 25, they shake hands and scream "DEAL", and then the demon says "hey you want me to kill that thing, correct?". So the deal they struck was for him to kill the elf. Then the second quote says "a deal once struck cannot be changed". So the deal would be "i offer you 25 years of my life to kill that elf". Do you...do you understand the problem I'm trying to highlight? Because she's not an elf? And because the demon won't run away with him because that's not the deal they struck, but is still fighting the not-elf.

JAndy

Also, saying that he can't escape without killing the slime first because the contract is fixed but then saying he can mark the contract as complete later on in the chapter.

phantom

The 5 year was the negotiations. a deal had not been struck yet. The after bit was clarifying the details. there was no getting around this as he discovered new information after the deal was made.

phantom

Maybe maybe not. Probably not as at this point anything that would take out the demon would take out the summoner first.

Colin C

Typo "he grabbed Kaspar by the waste" -> waist

Abishek Kumar

so we won't get demon profile

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter!

Gardor

"I offer you five years of my life to kill that elf over there!" "The deal once made cannot be changed. A new bargain cannot be struck until the first is concluded or one of the involved parties has perished" Does this make sense? The first is the deal to kill Syl, and then the demon negotiates for more years of his life. But the deal was struck before the demon asked any clarifying questions about who/what exactly he was supposed to kill. It just seems like contradictory levels of sticklerness, in ways that mostly seem to benefit the summoner, beyond not letting him run. Even just moving the demon's "to be clear you want me to kill that whatever over there" question to before they clasp hands and shout "deal", would help a lot imo

Shai182

TFTC! Demon snack time?
