It won't hurt to see them far in the future

I often delete cards and then change my mind. You can suspend or just start hitting easy for cards so that they blow out far into the future.

Hey! I read the whole article and found this useful: - For a new word to really stick, I had to see it in 2-5 DIFFERENT sentences. You do not need to keep the first one I think that this remark is way more valuable than even the idea of deleting flashcards. Now, my humble opinion is that Flashcards should only be deleted if they lose their individual quality and relevance, building on the premise that you give that Language is is constantly flux and self-reviewing. If a Flashcard keeps reminding me of useful information (specially additional information such as Pitch accent, extra words that I might pick from a sentence, etc), I will happily keep it forever in my library. Although what I said doesn't conflict with the essence of the article, people might naively read and just go deleting without this consideration in mind - IMHO cards are not generally deleted but simply "Upgraded" to better cards / sentences etc. - This was a lengthy answer but I hope I have contributed somehow; and the subject of Sentence flashcards does interest me!, Best, @cesartalvez

Suspending them is probably a better idea for the jlab decks. Otherwise, updates would just add the deleted cards back. I changed this in the article. I think I originally wrote "delete" because that’s what I did with my own cards- It just felt good to get them out of Anki for good. Thanks for the remark!

I understand the reasoning, but why not suspend them instead?
