Flowframes Early Access Download: 1.41.0 [RC1]
🕑 Added 2024-12-31 22:40:17 +0000 UTCSooo, I'll make this quick since I promised myself to release something before the year is over and I have less than 40 minutes left for that in my time zone.
First of all, sorry for the insane delay and the radio silence.
A lot has changed in my personal life, which made things more complicated, though that's not an excuse for the radio silence.
Anyway - I did work on Flowframes sporadically and got some new stuff. Sadly a lot of time also went into improving the codebase, which is important for development, but does not offer anything to you as end users.
This is marked as RC1 for Release Candidate 1, which means it may not be the final release as it hasn't been 100% tested for bugs etc. The version check might also incorrectly report 1.40 as the latest, even when running 1.41.0. Stuff like this will be cleaned up later.
Changes:
Whole bunch of features, improvements, fixes, as well as some things being removed as they were simply obsolete or a burden to maintain. New RIFE models up to 4.26 are in, with significant quality improvements. A proper command-line interface (via a separate, GUI-less executable) has been added for automation/scripting - documentation will follow soon. Hardware video encoding on Intel & AMD GPUs (that includes iGPUs) is in, you'll see the options QuickSync and AMF respectively. Flowframes can now handle variable frame rate (VFR) videos, preserving frame timing after interpolation. Additionally, a ton of UI/UX improvements were made, such as faster startup times, drag-n-drop no longer "locking" the cursor until the import was complete, more reliable GPU detection, the list goes on.
Full changelog is in Flowframes and may be missing some changes, I will go over the progress in the coming days and update it if I missed anything.
Feel free to give me feedback and tell me what works, what doesn't, and if you have suggestions.

Honestly you shouldnt have released this, it's non working, slower than 1.4, so many issues that it's a joke.

is he really working on it again. i just paid to try flowframes new version here and its broken, it cant detect gpu correctly, old version does perfectly fine. it also cant even install unless you use registry edits.

I am glad you are working on it again! Sadly, I use it mainly for de-duplication and that seems to be broken? No matter what I do, it seems to give an exception error, it cannot find dupes.json in the created temp folder.

Whitelist it in your Antivirus. It's a false positive. You can check the source code if you don't trust me, or use Virustotal. Try whitelisting C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Flowframes.

The installer doesnt work :( it never finish installation, it leave just FlowframesData and Magick.Native-Q8-x64.dll and thats it. No executable file.

First of all, thank you for the update. I'm trying to interpolate an .mp4 video (resolution: 3840 width, 2160 height) (23.97602 fps) to x2 framerate, normal speed, using RIFE 4.26. In settings, in "Maximum Video Input Size (Height)" I've tried with 4320, 2160, 2159 and 1080, and every single time I've gotten this error: "Error Vulkan ran out of memory! [E] vkAllocateMemory failed -2 Try a lower resolution (Settings -> Max Video Size). OK". Edit: figured it out myself, just had to use RIFE 4.9 instead of RIFE 4.26. It works just fine. However, this allows me to interpolate the video as long as it is downscaled to 1080 (height) in the process. When I pick the maximum value for "Maximum Video Input Size (Height)", the interpolation process starts at 0% and it stays there, it never progresses, or, it shows the same error message again. How can I interpolate without reducing the original resolution?

Nice update! A few things I noticed: - "lastOutputSettings" isn't saved in config.json, but if you fill it manually, flowframes applies the correct values at the next start. - Deduplication messes with the video speed, it get's faster depending on how many duplicate frames were removed, the video length in the file stays the same but it plays faster and when it ends it's only a still frame until the real end. - Batch Processing Queue is broken, after "Add Current Configuration to Queue" it will just repeat the same video if you try to add more via drag&drop to the Queue
