So the last chapter had kind of a mixed reaction, and I totally understand why. Last chapter wasn't as refined as it could be and upon re-reading I noticed a few character inconsistencies for Troy as pointed out by readers. I will go back and edit out some of the parts irrespective of the result of this poll.
I am only one person writing this, so I know that I can make mistakes with the plot. There was a reason for what happened last chapter. I usually don't do this, but just this once I am sharing how this arc would have gone forth:
Rihanna would not be mad that he kissed Scarlett, but outwardly show that she is, and would use that to get him to fake 'break up' with her. She won't tell him that Jay-Z was pressuring her and will present it as her own ambition.
Troy gets mad at her and feels used. Still, for the sake of their relationship he goes along with it initially. Later, he runs into Jay-Z at a party and gets to know the truth. He breaks up with her after that, because she's more loyal to Jay-Z than to him.
They would still remain friends because he realizes that Rihanna and him were both extremely ambitious which came in the midst of their happiness. During any other phase of their career, they would have been perfect for each other.
This will obviously not happen in one chapter, and there will be other elements like his upcoming film releases to consider as well, so it won't feel this cramped.
Now, with possible spoilers out of the way, I need your opinion: do you want me to scrap this arc and rewrite last chapter entirely? Or do you think I should go forth with my plan? I thought this was a good one but now I'm not so sure about it. I'm open to receiving any suggestions about this arc over the DMs.

Author you are the GOD of your universe even if we don't like something, we are consumers and we will support you. I like Riri as his girl, but I like other women as his girl too, I'm here more for the development of his career than his relationships.

I somewhat disagree with the sentiment that Troy breaking up with Rihanna over the whole JZ situation would be uncharacteristic of him. I think that it's possible like others say that he might try to play white night in that situation... but there's an equal if not greater chance he would break up with her. His bio mother betrayed him for selfish reasons and he no longer wants anything to do with her. When barry betrayed him, when russel Crowe did his thing... remember his reaction? I'll never work with them again. I'm done. That whole thing. His parents tended to calm him down but that's beside the point. He reacted emotionally. He felt betrayed and wanted nothing more to do with the relationship. Also per the spoilers, rihanna breaks up witj him using manipulation tactics (whole scarlet Johnson thing), at no point is she honest with him. Even when she convinced Troy to hold concerts she wasn't honest with him. She doesent try to figure out other options with jayz or other ways to gain popularity or whatever. Also, it's not like JZ is threatening her career right? He's just applying pressure and saying it would be BETTER for her career if they broke up. Better. That's it. end of the day? Is it really all JZ fault? Granted he's an asshole... blah blah. But Rihanna isn't so innocent. At all. All in all, considering troys history and considering that it's apparent Rihanna isn't quite blameless... I don't think a breakup is really out of character.

If you go this way please make this the last "fake relationship thing" and maybe just let rumors spread that they broke up but Troy/Rihannna never confirm.

I do think from your portrayal of Troy so far I believe it not likely that he would view Rihanna as being more loyal to J-Z over him, but that she was being pressured and manipulated and instead want to play White Knight… whether she would actually allow him to or stand firm would decide how their relationship would go. For example, if she gets upset over White Knight Troy she could feel like he is trampling on her independence and actually break up with him for real.

They're famous teenagers of course they're going to break up, for whatever reason, if it's about how cool they are together, because if they are, I'll admit it, you can make the next couple just as cool and problem solved.

My thought here is that the fake breakup may seem like its a bit soon since he just wrote and dedicated a song to her about their relationship onstage

You're right. That's one line that will absolutely go away in the rewrite. The reason I wrote it was because I try to put myself in Troy's shoes and since I'm not an actor/superstar, it came out a little inconsistent.

My main issue is that Troy wouldn't think he fucked up. He simply did his job and Rihanna was very vocal about not being jealous. The way you laid it out makes sense, though its disheartening, because I like them as a power couple.

I'm saying what I think again, that Rihanna is the right one, why not do as you wanted, and put them back together later when the two have flirted enough. (don't spoil it for us if you want to put them back together it will be a nice surprise for me)
