Decalthiya is the half Giant Armsmaster from book 1. She harassed, abused, and even attacked Michael in the safe zone of Erebus' "candidate" dungeon. She died in the fighting when the Inquisitor (I forgot his name) betrayed Morin and her friends to Saben.

John

This Dreamscape sounds like a great way of humanizing the Void tree's in the future. They may manifest as trees still, or void themed player silhouettes, who knows but I'm down for it because it will absolutely open up the possibilities. Also who is this half giant that Decal is taking inspiration from for his name? I forget

David Brewer

Technically Safyre has #8 not 20. Sedgwick has #20. The part I find curious is that Keros is listed as having #9 despite the tokens being soulbound... as forsworn aren't permitted soulbound items. "You have acquired a Forerunner faction token. This item is soulbound, and cannot be stolen, traded, or lost, even upon death. Hidden properties: this item’s faction ID is 0001." "Note, the forsworn are offered no protection by the Game. Powers are not constrained from acting against them. They may not carry soulbound items"

Grady Perry

I was just reviewing the faction players abilities and stuff and we really need Nyra to give Safyre her token so safyre has the number 2nd token instead of the 20th.

Another fun thought just came to my head while reading, anyone can pick any class, right? No prerequisites at all. So imagine you and your faction fighting another factions envoy or something and it’s a 4 foot 2 paladin dwarf with no helmet just like, “Aye Mates, let’s get their ankles!”

David Brewer

The specific requirement from Tom's chart is 1000 soldiers securing the safe zone. The key feature as I recall, is that securing the safe zone requires controlling access to the safe zone. This is often done by forts, but as we saw in Korg Major a zone can be claimed without one (Michael mentioned the lack of walls). If you'll recall the Blades laid claim to sector 75172 (I always forget the number, but the zone that is connected to Draven's Reach's exit portal) with a group of non-player mercenaries. So the Forerunners that aren't players can't enter the safe zone, but they also don't need to do so to permit the Forerunners to claim the sector. I wanted to link the chart, but I couldn't get the stupid app to let me post it here... the greater chat area I can. Just not here.

They have to encircle the safe zone…not be in it I thought

Grady Perry

While re-reading the series I came across something interesting. In the first book when Michael first enters the safe zone it says, “… only Players and Powers may enter.” But last I checked Michael/Sayfre don’t have 1000 players or powers in the fore runners faction. The wolf men don’t count, the wolves don’t count, the lichs don’t count, and the naigans don’t count because they are all non-players so they can’t go in the safe zone. This means they shouldn’t be able to claim this sector, right?

Grady Perry

I just thought of something, we know that players bodies remain there after death. But how long do they remain there? Do they stay there indefinitely? If so, shouldn’t the world be littered with dead bodies?

David Brewer

That was his reward for "healing" the Nexus Guardian.

Mike

I thought the game was rewardi g him with the nexus dungeon situation. That's why the adjudicator allowed the guardian to do what it did because it was expected that would be his reward for clearing the sector of the nether.

“True Class: astral aspect of the Power Michael.“ shouldn’t it be astral simulacrum.

David Brewer

Yes. He got Fade, and I think maybe an attribute stone. Edit: But it should be noted the platinum chest was a direct result of a non-elite slaying an elite... solo. It likely only yields a gold chest, or perhaps silver under "normal" circumstances of a group of elites fighting it.

obiwann

Isn’t this when he got the platinum chest?

David Brewer

He had to kill a million of those stupid things to kill one swarm viper at level 201... the idea of deliberately turning one into a Power is horrifying. It could maybe work.... but scary.

obiwann

Sitting here and I was slammed with a thought!! They can “hack” Draven’s reach to be a tier 7 dungeon!!! They can enter the back way… and capture that serpent that casts that death spell to double. Enslave 1…. Then go about killing the other a hundred times or so….. then releasing the enslaved one to “eat” the others….. leveling it up past 300!!!! Then kill it for real!!!!😮

obiwann

Oh Safyre will enter his dreamscape so hard…

obiwann

I guess… but he doesn’t seem to have opened his eyes… almost like waking up… still processing … first things u process are sounds , touch.. and a foreign presence in ur mind lol. I’m still betting he has game alerts… one particularly along the lines of deepening his wolf mark 👌

Blakuis Woolf

Yea but the others don't know that yet

David Brewer

... I mean technically by normal definition he HAS lost it. Talking to yourself IS crazy.

Alexander C Hyde

“Everyone (has)had a dreamscape, right?” I asked slowly.

Alexander C Hyde

He sighed. “You’re right. Talking to (our ourself) like this, we might go crazy. Separate identities are a must.” (This sounds weird.)

Blakuis Woolf

Can't wait for our boy to randomly stare off into space talking to his simulacrum while people just stare at him concerned thinking he's finally lost it. (Yes I understand it's in his mind. But as far as others know he'd just be zoned out)

Seth

“I returned to awareness surrounded by the murmur of voices speaking above me. I recognized the speakers immediately. It was Safyre and Ceruvax, both talking softly as they awaited my return, but for the time being, I ignored them.” He has come out of his meditation since it’s stated that he’s become aware of his surroundings.

David Brewer

He hasn't reviewed his alerts. He may (and should have one... saying at minimum the Forerunners have claimed sectors 18240... if nothing else) have one in waiting with the expected rewards.

jb qspam

Well, the sector itself is one heck of a prize.

obiwann

He hasn’t come out of his meditation yet… technically he is still in his mind and not the present. Once he does he will undoubtedly have alerts waiting for him. It was a task after all.

Harley Dalton Jr.

Interesting. However, I'm disappointed he wasn't rewarded more for securing the sector.
