🕑 Added 2014-05-13 06:38:59 +0000 UTC When doing gestures digitally, I find it's easier just to open a new layer and draw so I don't end up wasting time between poses and images. It actually leads to interesting looking pages once all the layers are turned back on. Also, I should say sorry if updates have seemed sporadic lately. I've been in and out of being sick and distracted and depressed and not always in the same order. This season always does a number on me physically and then there are always other factors that don't help.

To be sure, I think I must have a couple advantages over your life drawing coach. One, I'm working digitally so I can fudge the composition a bit if I really want to. And two, I sorta keep in mind the drawings underneath and the drawings on top when working on the same file.

I really do adore how these turn out. My former life drawing coach used a similar method but they rarely ended up with something that felt almost pre-composed.
