Afternoon Amy (pinup)

This was a drawing from a couple weeks back I think. There are a couple interesting things about it, despite being a fairly simple pose and composition. It was one of the few times I've ever tried using the 3D model tools in Clip Studio Paint with both a character and background. It took a little bit to get used to the tools but once I understood what was going on, it only took a few minutes to get a composition I was ready to work with.
The 3D model isn't a very accurate representation of anatomy. For one thing, it doesn't show how muscles move. It's just a useful mannequin that helps you figure out what you want to draw. It won't tell you things about weight or how natural the pose is.
Using the model as a guide, I was able to produce this pic in about one to two hours from start to finish. It was a pretty reasonable amount of time, with some of that dedicated to learning the 3d tools. If I can produce backgrounds with a program like Blender and then import them into Clip Studio, I can see this becoming a regular part of my process on more complicated projects.

I am definitely biased here, but I love how Amy turned out here. She's got a confident, almost cocky air that she definitely possesses in spades when she's commanding a room or even just arranging some of the many rambunctious KC girls. Love the soft lighting and thanks for letting her sub in for this exercise! :)

I played around with the figure tool the other day. You have a lot of fun doing goofy poses. Definitely a helpful tool for anatomy.

Amy wore it first.

With the mannequin to go off of I can see how quickly a storyboard or rough sketch can come together plus it helps sort the lighting out. The musculature is very lacking but we can't have computers doing everything now can we lol. It's pretty cool watching that come together to make a piece in just a couple hours. Keep it up!

She did come out great though! Love her design, might have to draw her up myself. :D

That's one striking monochrome! ^^ Makes her eyes "pop" really prominently! Love the pose and the design. <3
