New Suzie?

I wanted her to look more mature, befitting a comic that can lean in on kinky or dangerous themes now and then. Suzie was always an adult, just a short one. But the way she looked was maybe a little younger than intended. Anyway I just figured on adjusting her face a bit, gave her something more of a tired expression, and I think that works. Plus I think it adds to her character that she looks tired because she's working all the time.
The only thing I gotta consider is how she has her hair. Long hair like that would be a nightmare while working with mechanical parts. Imagine that getting caught in gears. It'd be awful!

You could actually do 2 hairstyles and give them significance. She can have it down like that in most situations, but you can signify that she's getting serious by having her switch to a ponytail. It can even be a visual cue for key narrative moments. Things are wrecked and people don't know what to do, but you see her putting her hair up...and that means she's got the plan and the gumption to save the day with her handy multitool!

I've never been a mechanic, but I've had long hair working in the food industry. While there was no safety risk to me, I'd imagine the hygienic need to keep my hair out of the way wasn't all that different in terms of the precautions you have to take. And yeah, just tied it up in a bun.

A lot of women mechanics, just put their hair up in a bun or braid it. Keeps it out of the way, but they can still let it down.
