I think this episode came before Shadow of Evil where the turtles did find out Splinter is Lou Jitsu bc Draxum told them, most places on the internet have these episodes out of order for some reason. It's which are before and after based on what they say

My thoughts exactly! This show has a way of pointing out some of the inner insecurites of these characters. Sometimes we're so busy laughing to notice but once we stop we can see them. That's what I've been loving about Rise of the TMNT. The writers really dared to be different.

Not gonna lie, the episode with the demolition durby is one of my faves, especially since we see Donnie get emotional, and he usually isn't. It speaks allot to his insecurities and his desire for recognition. It sort of woke me up to some of the deeper, in some ways more adult, aspects of the show.
