Soft Dreams
Jacob was rudderless. Directionless. Afloat in the sea of mundane nothings that seemed to comprise his life. Wake. Work. Game. Sleep. Wake. Work. Game. Sleep. His life was a never ending tunnel, his vision occupied by the same lights drifting overhead, no end in sight. Sure, work was fine. He got to hang out with friends, both in person and online and that was a lot more than many people got. But was it enough?
Eyes downcast, the grey furred mouse kicked a pebble from in front of him as he continued walking down a dusty, brown road. Wearing long, baggy jeans and a baggier hoodie which obscured just about every part of his form, he didn’t really care where he was going and he didn’t really notice the buildings changing around him from modern apartments and stores to more ramshackle, wooden constructions. Lost in thought, he was walking into the Outer District, where the fey and other creatures have set up along the outside of the city. No longer sharing the path with humans and other anthros like himself, oblivious to his surroundings, he narrowly sidestepped before being bowled over by a taur, not once looking up. The destination didn’t matter - tonight was about walking. Jacob often found himself walking when he was tired or depressed, as though he could outpace his troubles if he just kept going. But no matter how far from home he found himself, he could never shake the feeling he was still going nowhere.
It wasn’t the dust in the air as tarmac gave way to dirt roads, nor the ambient buzz of conversation as the drone of cars was left behind, but the scent of the Outer District that ended up catching Jacob’s attention. At first his whiskers tilted forward and the brown mop haired mouse was disgusted by the scent of the sweat of the animals and people around him. Horses, satyr and taur were far more common in these places than the inner city. But as the scent pulled him out of his thoughts Jacob realised that it was much more... real than anything the city had had to offer. The city was made of sterile skyscrapers and the gaunt faces of workers watching their lives tick by. This place smelled real. People here worked with metal in smithies, with hides in tanneries, they made things with their hands that weren’t spreadsheets on a computer screen. He looked around, surprised to find he’d walked so far away from home. The buildings on either side of the street were made of wood and stone here, often in combination and they crowded in on one another in a bizarre display of what could only be described as life. One shabby looking shack’s signage indicated it was a seller of cured meats, while another more orderly building’s sign exclaimed a tailor who could work with any size. In the distance, the markets were closing up for the evening but Jacob’s mouse ears could still hear the bustle and cries of hawkers vending their wares.
A large goose woman gave him a wide berth as she walked past, mumbling something about tourists under her breath. Jacob wasn’t surprised, he had been standing there looking around as though he’d never seen the Outer Districts before. He’d visited once or twice, but in truth he’d never really seen it. The city folk tended to believe that the fey were happy to play tricks on anyone who entered their districts and stayed away, he’d just never really had any reason to come. As he looked around another store caught his attention, proudly jutting out from the end of the street, Endra’s Web was declared a one place stop for all your mystical needs.
Magic too had never held Jacob’s interest particularly - it was the domain of creatures far stranger than he, but as though pulled by gravity he found himself moving in that direction. The store looked well made and well looked after, it had an arched roof with dark green tiles. Two large windows were crowded with apparent artefacts but they looked like things Jacob could find in an antique store.
Passing through the threshold of the store Jacob found it was even more cosy within than it was without. A little bell above the heavy wooden door announced his presence but there didn’t appear to be anybody inside to notice it. The interior of the store was tidy, with large shelves displaying more knick-knacks and racks beside mannequins showing off clothing that certainly would have looked more in-style several hundred years ago. But the Outer District folk tended to enjoy that kind of style, so it was no surprise to Jacob to see it here. He perused the shelves, looking over a Compass of Lovers Lost, a Silver Wristlet of Holding and an Amulet of Perfumed Air, whatever they were. Probably nonsense and nothings, traps designed to capture and hold the interest and money of people like him who didn’t know what was actually magic and what wasn’t.
One thing stood out to him though, pushed away in the corner of a display was a large leather bound book. It looked old and, curious, he reached out to pick it up. The book was lighter than Jacob expected given its size and its title read: The Twisting Tales, a Choose Your Own Adventure Novel by Willow Smith. There was nothing else on its front, no pictures or any mention of awards the book had won, as one would find on more modern books, but Choose Your Own Adventure novels were surely a modern invention weren’t they? Either way, intrigued and determined not to leave the Outer Districts without some trophy to commemorate his visit, Jacob tucked the large book under one arm and looked for the store’s owner.
Almost immediately the mouse saw a golden furred vixen leaning against a counter at the side of the store. She had long flowing brown hair and was wearing a dark red dress with black and white trimming. Taken aback, Jacob wondered if she had been there the whole time, or had come from another part of the store. She was looking at him intently, open curiosity on her face and her lashing, fox tail. Jacob forced a smile and crossed the creaking wooden floor to her.
“Uh, just this.” He said, putting the large novel down on the counter top. The vixen’s golden eyes shifted from his face to the book in front of her, then back to him. “Do you take uh, standard currency?” He asked, shifting uncomfortably beneath those eyes.
For a long moment she didn't reply, she simply stared at him, sizing him up and down. Then the vixen shrugged. “Not my book.” She said at last, leaning backwards.
As the weight of that gaze fell off Jacob he felt himself breath a sigh of relief. “Wait. What do you mean it’s not yours?”
“Not my book.” The vixen replied again with a smile. “I don’t stock that book. Someone must have left it here.”
A pang of disappointment welled in Jacob’s chest. Someone left it, that meant he wouldn’t be able to buy it. It had been long years since he’d immersed himself in the other world that a choose your own adventure book could provide, he didn’t realise how much he’d been looking forward to doing so again.
Then, the vixen smiled. It was strangely comforting despite revealing sharp teeth. She reached to one side and slid a pencil and piece of paper towards Jacob. “You can take it with you. Just put your phone number here in case the owner comes back to collect it.” There was a pause and the vixen shrugged, “I wouldn’t expect a call though. Looks to me like that book likes to get around.”
Confused but undeterred, Jacob signed his name and number down. “Thank you.” He mumbled, picking the book up again.
“I’m Endra, by the way.” There was that smile again.
“Jacob.” The mouse replied, avoiding her gaze as he scurried out of the store, book held close to his chest.
It was getting dark outside, the lights of the city were shimmering in the night sky up ahead. Home, for about as much a home as it was to anyone.

By the time Jacob made it to his apartment the sun had sunk well past the horizon and the melody of the night floated on exhaust fumes and car horns. He had a cosy little place that looked out onto a tired looking street, neon signs flashing in the distance. A few weathered potted plants made it a home, alongside posters of games he’d played with his friends - memories of the times that brought him happiness.
After a meal made from instant ramen with eggs added in, the book’s presence in Jacob’s house could no longer be ignored. Not that he was ignoring it, exactly. But what does one do with a choose your own adventure book? Read it on the couch in front of the TV? Curl up in bed with it? It sat on his kitchen counter, plain and unimposing. Under yellow kitchen lights the grey mouse with the long brown hair opened the book.
Welcome, adventurer, to Willow’s Twisting Tales. I know it’s long past time you started your new life. What will it be?
Beneath, Jacob expected to find a series of options, like he’d seen in the books he had read in school. Brave knight, charismatic rogue, devious wizard, that kind of thing. Instead, he saw only one option.
You begin your life as a fat, donkey plushie girl. Turn to page 251.
Unexpected to be sure. He thought of simply flipping to the next page, to see if all beginnings were as bizarre, or what the other pages were filled with, but another measure within him wanted to see it through. A fat, donkey plushie girl. His new life. It would be nice to read about that, lose himself in that for a while. So he turned the pages of the book, looking for page 251. Soft paper pages whirled past, filled with the text of other adventures for other times, and his finger stopped at page 251. It was empty.
Jacob frowned, disappointment mingling with anger - he’d been interested to read about his ‘new life’, but he didn’t realise how much so until the chance was ripped out from under him.
“Piece of crap...” the mouse mumbled under his breath. Whatever. It was late and he was tired from all the walking. Shooting his friends a quick goodnight over text chat, the mouse wandered his way to bed, stripping down before sinking beneath the covers. Perhaps at least he would get to dream some new thing for himself. The sound of cars, people and trains faded into a quiet static, like rain against a window, and Jacob found himself drifting to sleep.

When Jacob woke up the next morning, he could hear it was now actually raining. To sensitive mouse ears, the gentle pitter patter was a soothing lullaby that made it hard to get out of bed. Making things harder still was the fact that he felt light headed, everything seemed a little fuzzy, thoughts harder to come by than normal. Were it any other day he’d probably have rolled over and gone back to sleep, but it was a work day and his paycheck was calling.
The grey furred mouse was out of bed and stretching in his boxers before he caught sight of himself in the reflection of his full length mirror. Typically Jacob was a slender creature with a physique that indicated he perhaps didn’t eat as much as he should, and definitely didn’t exercise very much beyond work. Today was another story. Immediately the plush layer of fat that covered his stomach and thighs caught his attention, the beginnings of a pot belly pooching out over the waistband of his boxer briefs that wasn’t there yesterday.
Equal parts fascination and horror played across Jacob’s face as he slowly prodded the small overhang, his finger sinking into the new fat easily - too easily. It was softer than any fat he’d seen before, marshmallow like in composition. His finger sunk into the second knuckle and his stomach puffed back out again immediately after he withdrew it. Mouth hanging open, Jacob blinked. He had never been anything but skinny before, and now he was without a doubt chubby. A blush started creeping across his face as he wondered what his co-workers would think of the sudden extra poundage, if they even noticed, when he saw something along one of his arms. His fur was dimpled in, along a perfectly straight line that ran up his arm. It took him a second before he realised what it reminded him of, a seam. After a moment he confirmed his other arm looked like it had a seam running up it as well, his legs too. The seams joined up with his torso where they disappeared into fluff.
His heart starting to pound, this Jacob took less well than finding a few extra pounds on his body. A seam was an entirely different matter! Hesitantly, and with his heart drumming in his ears, the mouse gently picked at one of the seams on his arm. Instantly he recoiled in pain, it hurt! They were - they were a part of him. Shuddering, he walked over to where he had discarded his hoodie and pants last night and began dressing himself quickly. His clothes were large enough to hide the bulge around his stomach and the increased padding around his thighs, but after dressing himself he still felt light headed.
“It’s just a...” the words coming out of his mouth startled Jacob, who was unused to mumbling to himself. It was a break in the silence of his otherwise quiet home.
It’s a curse. Jacob decided with a definitive nod towards the mirror where - fully dressed, nobody could tell anything was different about the mouse. That’s what people always said, don’t go to the outer district, because if you do the fey might decide to play a prank on you. Sometimes he saw stories in the local news of people and anthros who had had pranks played on them, turning wild colours or into different animals entirely, only to revert and go back to normal in a few days. Just a curse. The fey were certainly playing a prank on him, and after a few days he would go back to normal, all he had to do was ignore it.
Even so, Jacob called out sick to work. He didn’t want to be stuck around the hospital when the fey decided to ramp up their shenanigans. As he tucked his mobile phone back into his pocket, the mouse realised with a start that his condition was probably linked to the book. After all, he had read, You begin your life as a fat, donkey plushie girl, and now he was growing seams. Stalking out towards the kitchen where he’d left the book, the now chubby grey mouse looked around to see only an empty counter top. It had been there last night, he had no doubt of that. The fact that it was gone only seemed to reassure him of the fact that he was the victim of some magical prankster. Resolving to take it easy, he fished out his phone and ordered some pizza. If he was going to take a day off, he might as well do it properly. He had some anime to catch up on, after all.
By the time Jacob made it to bed that evening he had spent the day binging on pizza and watching corny anime on the couch. A few bottles of soft drink were lying spent, to either side of the cosy looking sofa and three boxes of pizza had been demolished by the rodent with a good dent made into a fourth. Staggering quietly towards bed - he had stayed up as long as he could, not wanting to face the anxious thoughts he might have lying down - the mouse’s chubby stomach was puffed up around the pizza that he had crammed into it, now the size of a fluffy basketball. Not seeing it, not caring, Jacob crawled beneath the covers of his bed, fully clothed, and collapsed into sleep.

Standing in front of the mirror in his locker at work, Jacob frowned. The plush layer of softness he’d accumulated yesterday hadn’t diminished with the night, in fact it had only seemed to grow. The semi-pregnant bulge he’d carried with him to bed had spread out across his torso, making his chubby stomach pronounced and jutting. Even his baggy hoodie would struggle to hide it, his work scrubs had no chance at all. Worse for his wardrobe were his thighs which were wider by a matter of inches and stretching his work pants.
Walking into work had been a nightmare, but he didn’t really have any choice. He couldn’t keep calling out, and he had no idea how long this curse business would last. Not to mention any more days off like that and Jacob would be a parade float by the end of the week. A thought which caused him to blush even as he looked at himself in front of the mirror. No, he would have to suck it up, suck it in, do his shift and go home.
WIth a soft ‘clop clopping’ a cow-fox hybrid walked past Jacob’s reflection in the mirror.
“Hey Jacob.” They said with a wave, already wearing their scrubs. The hybrid was grey furred with darker grey patches. They had long brown hair which was worn in a ponytail behind their head, framed by two bovine horns.
“Hey Vic,” Jacob replied, closing his locker and the mirror attached to the inside of it. Vic had been a friend for at least as long as Jacob had worked at the hospital. They both worked different departments, but they managed to catch up for lunch breaks and activities outside of work. They were both the same kind of nerdy, which was a rare and happy occurrence.
If Jacob was chubby, Vic was outright fat. They had a large stomach which drooped over their thighs and struggled against their scrubs. It was one of the things about the cow-fox hybrid Jacob admired, if he admitted it to himself. Vic didn’t care what others thought of them, they just were. Living their best life, as it were. He wasn’t sure he could ever do that.
The hybrid was looking at Jacob appraisingly, and he felt his cheeks warm. “You’re looking good today, haircut?” They said at last.
“Uh, yeah.” Jacob replied with a small smile. “Something like that. Meet at lunch?”
“You bet. I’m buying lunch - no complaints! You called in sick yesterday. Let me treat you.”
Unable to convince the hybrid he needed treating, Jacob and Vic left their separate ways to start their shift with smiles on their faces. Though he did his best at dodging looks from his co-workers and the few regulars he worked with at the hospital, Jacob got a few remarks on how ‘healthy’ he was looking that day. He wasn’t sure what to make of it.

After a week had passed, Jacob begrudgingly found himself walking a familiar road back to the Outer Districts. This time, he wasn’t in a funk so deep that he couldn’t see the buildings change around him, the city seeming to fade away to be replaced by this frontier style development he was walking into. This time, a lot of things had changed.
The Jacob that had walked this road last week had been a slender thing, covered and hidden by oversized hoodies. Now, even his largest hoodie couldn’t conceal his rotund shape - his stomach stretched it out and pushed it up. His pants were splitting at the seams as his thighs had plushed out, the mouse’s ass was now almost as wide as some doorways were! Examining himself in the mirror that morning, he had seen the coloration of his fur had begun to change, growing almost beige in some areas. His face was starting to round out and, blushing as he recalled it, Jacob saw the beginnings of breasts forming on his chest! Perky little boobs that even now pushed against the fabric of his hoodie. Most distressing of all, as he completed his examination in front of the mirror that morning he noticed that his dick was shrinking! It was that, puffing and ranting to himself about what cruel trick a fey would play that would cause that to happen, which pushed the mouse over the edge.
It was time to return to Endra’s store.
So Jacob found himself doging between taurs and weaving between the heavier folk of the Outer Districts. It’s not like it had been all bad, the now wider mouse had to admit to himself. He had gone on two, what might be called dinner dates, with his co-worker Vic. The hybrid had treated him to large meals both times, and each time he found himself clutching his stomach as he waddled back to his apartment, tail wagging with happiness. That certainly hadn’t happened in a long, long time. He liked Vic a lot and was finding himself happier and happier to be spending time with the other anthro. Likewise, Vic didn’t seem to mind the changes that Jacob was going through - in fact they seemed to encourage them if the dinners were any give away.
But the dick thing was the final straw, honestly. Enough was enough, and Jacob found himself standing in front of Endra’s store. The vixen had been the one to give him the book after all, if anyone knew what to do about getting this fey prank undone, it would have to be her.
Bells jingled as the mouse manoeuvred his way into the narrow doorway of Endra’s store - sideways so as to avoid knocking over any of the displays either side of him. He had knocked over far too many things in the hospital already to be careless about the new girth of his hips as he sidled on into the now familiar, musty looking room. It was as he remembered it, all items and clothing, a mess of junk that would have been more at home in an antique store than anywhere else. Endra herself was flipping through a heavy looking book at the counter - for a moment Jacob’s heart leapt into his chest before he realised it was not his choose your own adventure book. This one was bound in black leather with expensive looking silver trimming. She quirked an eyebrow to see him initially, and that eyebrow only rose as she took in his expanded form.
“Oh uh, Jacob.” If she needed time to remember his name, it was half a second - it would have been impressive were it any other situation. “How are...” her eyes slid over his form again, the pause between her words minute but meaningful, “you?”
“Glad you can still recognise me.” He grumbled through gritted teeth as he slid his way sideways towards the counter. “You might say I’ve got a complaint about that book you gave me.” Jacob had rehearsed what he would say a dozen times on the way to the store; he couldn’t complain about Endra selling him bad merchandise because technically she didn’t sell him anything. But what about his dick?!
“Well,” Endra’s tone was smooth as honey as she marked and closed her own book, “if you’ll recall, I didn’t stock that book.”
“And that’s great,” Jacob growled, “but what about this?!” Dramatically, the mouse yanked up the bottom of his hoodie to expose his now bulging stomach. It didn’t bounce, it simply spilled into the open space, taking up more room, like a mattress being taken out of its bag. Or a marshmallow in a microwave. He could fit two basketballs in there now and have room for dessert.
Endra’s immediate reaction was confusion, “I um...” she looked over the mouse once more, reaching for the words to say. “It’s cute?” She offered at last, before with a glare, Jacob jabbed at one of the two seams running down his torso. Of course, he had to stand side on to show it to her and was wide enough that there was no way she could see the one on the other side of him by now, but one was enough. “Oh.” She said, once her eyes caught the shape of the line tracing up his side, the delicate stitchwork that for anyone else would be holding them together. Was it holding him together?
“Yeah.” As much as Jacob enjoyed the feeling of his finger being swallowed by his plush torso, he pulled it away after a moment and began to struggle with his hoodie. It had been a pain to get into before he left and it was no easier to get around his gut now that it was hanging out in the store. “I know I didn’t buy anything here but this is ridiculous isn’t it? I step foot in the Outer Districts for the first time in years, yours is the only store I visit and, well,” a gesture took in his body from his fattened cheeks and chin to his perky breasts, wide stomach and wider hips, “this.”
The vixen’s tail began swaying with what he might have mistaken was curiosity. Curious?! Here he was, horrified. Endra shrugged and smiled. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s doing this to you. Given I didn’t stock the book, I never really had a chance to vet it for spells or curses. I suppose it was irresponsible of me to just let you take it, but I didn’t have any cause not to.”
As she spoke, Jacob deflated bit by bit. Draining from him was all the energy, the anger, the indignation and self righteousness he had built up during the walk to her store. He should have known this would be the outcome really, it was foolish to have come. She must have noticed him drooping, because she continued quickly,
“But I can make enquiries about a counter spell.” She said, and a spark of hope lit up in Jacob, along with something else he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Was it anxiety?
“I’d... I’d like that.” Jacob replied, pushing a smile to his face.
“Would you really?” The question came as a shock, and more shocking still was the intensity of Endra’s expression. Of course, of course he would want a counter spell! Who would want to be stuck like this? A dozen words tripped over themselves as they ran through Jacob’s mind but all he could manage was:
“Yeah. I mean, yes please.”
She simply smiled. A smile that said she knew something he didn’t. He didn’t want to know what - frankly. “If that is what you truly desire,” the vixen replied, emphasising the words in a way that made Jacob want to tug at his ears in frustration, “then that is what you will have.”
“You’ve got my number.” He said at last, and not sure how to feel anymore, Jacob waddled his way out of the store again.

“Hey Lori, still up for that game later?” Vic waved as the pair passed each other in the corridor. Well, passed would have been the term had Lori not had to turn side on just to be able to sidle past the trolley Vic was wheeling by. The hospital was like that these days, a cramped bustle of life full of people and things moving around. And Lori? So much had changed in a week.
She flashed a grin, her teeth were one of the few things that were still solid, “if I can still use the keyboard, you’re on.” Her voice was lighter, softer, louder. Not unexpected, all things considered.
Vic just grinned back, their bushy, fox-like tail swaying happily behind them as they went. “We’ll get-cha one of those big ones soon - can’t conquer the virtual ocean without our captain!” And with that the hybrid was gone, their big hips swaying as they went off to whatever department they were headed, leaving Lori staring after their wake.
Game nights with Vic and her other friends were some of the few things that pulled her through the last week. It felt like everything was changing around her, and every other day a reflection of that change was pulled up in front of her. Meetings with co-workers, an embarrassing conversation with her parents. Thanksgiving was going to be interesting. She caught a reflection of herself in the window of one of her patients rooms - yeah, a lot could change in a week.
Once upon a time that reflection had been a non-descript grey furred mouse who usually kept himself hidden behind long bangs and baggy clothes. As though fate were playing some cruel trick, the person she saw now was anything but inconspicuous. She was tall, taller than she had ever been before - and she was a she which was new but perhaps not unexpected. At some point it just got easier to start introducing herself to people as Lauren, and when the staff picked it up someone came up with the nickname Lori. It felt right, and just like that, that was her name now.
And she was fat. Now even normal doors were problematic, her large stomach hung down past her thighs and defied every article of clothing she owned, her love handles would brush against the sides of doors sending a shiver up her spine. She didn’t not enjoy it. Lori had been upgraded to the largest scrubs the hospital had but still they weren’t able to cover the whole of that massive stomach of hers, a large orb which protruded out in front of her everywhere she went. It might have been an issue if she were working in sterile environments, but more or less she was just cleaning the patients rooms - and the non infectious ones at that. It didn’t seem to matter what she did or didn’t eat, day by day that stomach of hers kept growing and her thighs? It felt like they were constantly trying to outdo her gut. Thank the gods she seemed to be filled with stuffing, Lori wasn’t sure she would be able to squeeze in anywhere otherwise. She was wider than she’d ever been, wider than she’d seen most people.
The former mouse’s once grey fur had turned a vivid brown and her light grey stomach had become beige. She plonked around on plushy hooves where once she had had delicate, mouse feet. That had been a change and a half to adapt to - one morning there they were, hooves instead of feet. Walking around had never been so difficult as it had been that one morning, and throughout her day she kept bumping into things, knocking them over, but her coworkers didn’t seem to mind. Even though Vic worked in a completely different department, whenever the other anthro saw Lori struggling, they were always there to lend a hand. Which was extra useful as her own fingers turned from delicate pink little things to big, brown sausage fingers filled with fluff. Hence her issues with the keyboard; fighting pirates on the open virtual oceans was one thing, but her hand was twice the size it had been before! Still, she wouldn’t miss those game nights for the world.
Or any of the other nights.
Lori caught herself standing there, looking at the completely different person she was now. Her eyes lingered on her body, she had boobs - tightly constrained by the too small scrubs. Her snout had rounded out and her ears were growing in length, she had had a hunch for a while now, but seeing her face reflected back at her she realised she was turning into a donkey plushie. It fit, in a way, her prominent front teeth had only grown more prominent, after all. Her arms were long, ending in too large hands with too large fingers. The slope of her chest curved outwards as it rested on that massive ball of a stomach, someone’s idea of a joke perhaps - if she were turning into a mascot, why did she have to be so fat? But as the thought crossed her mind she dismissed it. Walking around work was a struggle, and she bumped into things a lot with her gut, but whenever Vic gave it a gentle caress after one of their dates well, the electric tingle that ran up her spine made it all worth it. She would be twice as fat if it meant the cow-fox hybrid doted on her like that even a moment more. She blushed to think about it.
“Staring at yourself, Lori?” One of the nurses chuckled to himself, and Lori’s cheeks burned brighter.
She cleared her throat and turned away from the window. “There’s a lot to stare at.”

“You can’t have thought I wouldn’t notice that eating turned you on~” the teasing voice from Vic was accompanied by a finger that trailed down the side of Lori’s medicine ball of a stomach - no, it was bigger than a medicine ball. And much, much softer. As their finger trailed down its side, tracing the line of a seam beneath the cover of the dress she wore, Lori shivered and blushed.
“W-well no, it’s just not... it’s just not something I thought you’d be interested in.” She stammered, sure they had gone on dinner dates that resulted in some pretty hefty stuffing sessions, but Lori had just assumed Vic was a big eater. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that there were other motivations at play, ones that made her large donkey ears twitch.
The hybrid gave a musical laugh and walked ahead of her, stepping into the lights of the restaurant they were visiting that evening. The image evoked another in her head, and somewhere in the back of her mind, Lori wondered what it would be like if Vic were holding a big leash, connected to an oversized collar around her soft neck. She shook her head and dismissed the thought, for now. “I’m interested in you,” Vic replied, taking her in. “All of you. Kinks and all. And you know I’m interested in this.” She said, poking a finger into Lori’s stomach firmly. Lori’s blush reddened - that particular spot had been of a lot of interest last night when Vic was grinding into it. Another unexpected benefit of being a massive plushie with a big fat stomach.
Vic turned to lead Lori inside the restaurant - it had double doors thank the gods, which meant she wouldn’t have to squeeze in. Single doors were always a problem now. Once again she caught her reflection, it happened more and more this last week or so, maybe she was simply noticing herself more now there was more to notice.
The transformation had been complete for a few days now, gone was Jacob the mouse, replaced by Lori the big fat donkey plushie. Sure, she was still the same person, with the same memories, but aside from all the physical changes she was also happier now. Standing about one and a half times her old height, Lori was towering above Vic in the reflection of the restaurant window, truly she drew eyes where-ever she went now and it wasn’t just about her height. She was twice as wide as she had used to be, twice! Her hips splayed out to either side of her massive gut, if they didn’t win the competition of size they certainly did their best to keep up. Standing in profile, she imagined she was even wider, her stomach was a massive, fluff stuffed thing that jutted out so far in front of her she could no longer wrap her arms around it. That seemed to be a feature that most people liked as now and then she was asked by coworkers or patients if they could hug her and inevitably they ended up wrapping their arms around the swell of her stomach. She didn’t mind, it was nice to make people happy.
Lori ducked as she walked through the restaurant door - something she had gotten quite used to lately, she was too tall for pretty much any door these days. It had been surprising, the first time she had bonked her head on the top of a doorway, but it didn’t even hurt! The bonuses of being made out of fabric and stuffing, she supposed. Vic was talking with a server and the pair were led quietly through the restaurant floor.
Eyes followed Lori as she bumped into unoccupied chairs, and those occupied by humans or anthros, a mumbled string of apologies following in her wake. It was pretty standard fare these days, though she still blushed and mumbled her way through the process - maybe one day she would be headstrong enough to just barge on through, but where was the fun in that? Finally she caught up to the other two, waiting at a table by the wall. Vic had already anticipated the need for two chairs and was pulling one away from a neighbouring, unoccupied table. Lori wasn’t particularly heavy when she hadn’t eaten anything, but two chairs was better than one chair which would get swallowed between her cheeks.
She glanced down, suddenly self conscious. She was wearing the best clothes she had, date nights were nice to dress up for after all, but even her largest dress barely covered her stomach. Vic had assured her that it was okay, and it probably was, but Lori wasn’t used to wearing dresses at the best of times.
As though they had read her mind, Vic whispered, “You’re looking beautiful hun,” as the hybrid took his place and a menu was delivered to each of them. Lori smiled gratefully, and reached towards hers but had barely had time to open it before the cow-fox announced loudly that they would be ordering one of everything in the menu.
Lori gasped, and the waiter raised an eyebrow, but the grey wolf took the order dutifully before leaving.
Vic was grinning as Lori’s gaze fell back on them. “I had a chat with the restaurant owner, friend of a friend actually.” They explained. “This kind of thing happens a lot here.” They added, with a wink. And as Lori looked around she could see they were probably right. A lot of the patrons of this particular venue looked heavyset to say the least. In another corner of the restaurant, a vixen was doting on a particularly portly pig who looked like she was two bites away from exploding the blouse she had come in, in. Lori blushed and looked back at Vic, who shrugged innocently.
“Hey I’ve seen the kind of porn you get off to,” they added with a wink.
“That’s a secret!” Lori hissed through gritted teeth, her blush burning brighter with every second.
“Then you shouldn’t have shown me last night.” Vic replied, their tone playful. None of this was a violation of trust, the two had come to know each other and their kinks quite well now. It was just... a surprise.
Lori sat, her arms folded across her chest, cheeks burning bright red while Vic watched with amusement. “Oh I’m gonna get my girl so fucking fat...” they mumbled, so only Lori could hear, delighting in the way the plushie’s cheeks only got redder. “She’s not even going to be able to move.” They cooed across the table at Lori, who was moments away from throwing a breadstick at them before the appetisers hit the table.
The appetisers were everything she could expect from the decently fancy restaurant, with a few things she didn’t expect. A basket of mozzarella sticks for example mingled with a platter of bruschetta, which was being overtaken by a plate of burger sliders. Lori swallowed questions of how Vic was going to pay for any of this, or what would happen when she got full and the next course arrived, she didn’t ask what Vic wanted to eat - it was quite clear that the hybrid was intent on making good on their words. They pulled their chair next to Lori’s, and the feeding began.
It started off slow, deliberate, loving. Just as well, Lori thought around a mouthful of bruschetta - she had learned she could survive quite well eating really anything at all. A meal could be made of a pillow if she really wanted to, but her mouth was one of the few organic-ish things left to her. Her tongue was slick with saliva and covered in tastebuds and the taste of the real, actual restaurant food was amazing. Lori wanted to savour it, and perhaps Vic wanted to as well. They made pleasant conversation as the cow-fox fed her bits and pieces, mouthfuls here and there, talking about what was going on in their games, at work, in their friend circles. Like a cross-country jogger stopping for a drink of water, Vic ate a slider here, a mac and cheese ball there, keeping their energy up. The rest of the food was meant for Lori, and they were determined to see it inside of her.
And so the night started, and Lori began to grow. After the first platter of sliders there really wasn’t much room left for her stomach, so it started to expand. She had found herself quite flexible but it was always a blush-inducing sight for her, seeing her stomach begin to grow, inch by inch, pushing out slowly in front of her with every bite, every chew, every gulp. She rubbed it gently, hefting the soft weight of it, tracing where her massive love handles had formed at her sides. If she were lying on her back, she imagined Vic could straddle it but would be unable to reach the ground with their feet. It strained her dress, which by now was making ominous creaking noises and caked with more than a few stains from different dishes. He was entirely professional as he replaced the dishes and Vic began to feed her again, but if she didn’t know better she thought he might have flashed him a thumbs up. She squirmed at the thought of it.
“Oh yeah?” Vic seemed to catch the squirming, one of their hands rubbing gently along the insides of the plush’s thighs. Her sex seemed to be the other mostly organic feeling thing, it was certainly wet enough. “Is my big fat piggy getting turned on by the thought of being blown up like a parade float in front of all these people?” They whispered in Lori’s ear and the donkey’s body shuddered with pleasure.
“H-hey, unfair!” She whispered back, around a mouthful of carbonara ravioli.
The hybrid gave her inner thigh a gentle squeeze. “Let me know if it’s too much,” they whispered back, “I can back off.”
She didn’t even have to think about it, “N-no, it’s perfect.” Lori replied, blushing at the way Vic grinned and the load of pasta they piled up on their fork.
There was so much food and now that the small talk was out of the way, Vic was feeding Lori with a determination matched only by their flirting and groping. Barely a third of the way into the feast and Lori heard her dress ripping - the tear was loud enough to be heard across the restaurant as it split right up her sides. Instantly her stomach bwoomph’d out another few inches, it felt like a whole foot, as the tide of fluff and fluffy blubber that had been held in check by the garment surged outwards. It pushed against Vic so suddenly they nearly lost their seat, and it hit the table in front of Lori, pushing over it and smooshing into what she assumed was an errant slice of pizza, but had no way of seeing. Vic whispered something about how everyone was watching her make an absolute blimp of herself, but Lori didn’t look. She just blushed and ate the next bite she was given, arms wrapped around as much of her bulk as she could and squeezing it gently. Lifting it lightly. Letting it fall back down with a loud plop.
That creaking noise she had heard from her dress continued through the main courses, even after the last of it fell away, with patches covering up her big drooping breasts and the rest of her now simply giant stomach completely bare. The main courses finished with a crescendo, the wolf began taking empty plates away while Vic fed her the last few slices of a gourmet pizza. The mystery resolved itself when one of the chairs she was sitting on suddenly cracked and broke - the massively obese donkey plush suddenly finding herself at an odd angle before she slide onto the floor.

They looked down at Lori, and then at the wolf who was returning with the dessert menu. “No, I don’t think so my big fat food sack, you get to stay down there until you can move on your own.” They replied, grinning a little bit as they did. Lori returned the grin with a blush and a moan.
Soon the restaurant was closing, and patrons were shuffling their way past Lori. She really did feel like a big, food stuffed balloon. Too heavy and fat to even get up, though she was sure she’d be able to stand if she had a little support, she wasn’t going to gamble that the table nearest to her would withstand her weight. Ordinarily she was pretty wide, now as the other restaurant patrons shuffled around her to get out, she could swear her gut was nearly as tall as they were. The thought only made her squirm more. Vic didn’t let up on the feeding, pastries and donuts pushed into her greedy mouth the second it was empty.
One by one the shutters were drawn and the lights were dimmed and still, Vic was feeding her. Still her stomach pushed out, inch by inch, tighter, fatter, bigger. Lori tried to comment on it, to ask when they were leaving, but the moment her mouth was free an eclair was stuffed in it. She stopped asking after the fifth eclair, just mumbling around her chewing and groping at her massive gut. At last the wolf came over to the pair and dropped a key into Vic’s hand. They flashed the wolf a thumbs up and the wolf, and the rest of the staff departed, leaving the pair alone in the middle of the restaurant. At that point, Vic got up.
“Had enough food yet, fatty?” They asked, trailing their fingers along the side of Lori’s gut. Now it was as tall as Vic was, she was sure of it. Her stomach was as wide around as Vic was tall. The thought nearly made her orgasm then and there. Taking her non-response as an answer, the hybrid continued, “good, because we’re nearly out of dessert and it’s time for my treats.” They said, unbuckling their pants and pulling them down. Somewhere in the night, a large brown leather bound book found its way to another home.
