Voodoo You: Chained Spirit ability. Share damage with summons. (possibly crossing over to it's child skill.) Keep in mind, I always wanted Chained spirit's abilities to be more utility-based than Calvinian summoning.

So I saw quite a bit of support for learning ilethan illusion magic. It's a problem because I don't know how it works or will fit in, but I'll keep it in mind. When I hear illusion magic, I usually think an image of whatever you want coming into existance, but I feel like, for this series, Illusion will need to have sharp definition, rather than being whatever you want at any give time. Limits. Perhaps it's simple light distortion, like really strong mirages, or something. Idunno.
He definitely plans on getting the meditation healing ability, which will speed up bedrest after getting stabbed by a lot.
A couple people suggested a Martial art for defence. The only one I can think of is Tai-Chi, which is about redirecting force. Tai-chi comes with a fair amount of wuxia baggage, so even if i do use it, I'll probably secretly change the name.
Someone commented about a noble skill since he spends so much time with princesses, and I had a silly idea about him kidnapping Kala and getting a princess Kidnapping skill... Maybe call it the Bowser. the more i think about a skill devoted specifically to kidnapping princesses, the more i like it.
The robot and Alchemy skill were interesting. I've wanted him to get an alchemy skill since a long time ago, but I dumped that idea in favor of getting the components made by a professional. Although it still has appeal. I think i can fit it in to the end of the chapter today.
The Iron Skin was going to be an ability acquired from lifestyle, namely drinking a lot of that black stuff that makes you grow up big and strong. It didn't immediately take for Cal because he either hasn't had enough of it, or humans are incompatible. i havent decided on that one yet.
And Ella's Paralyzing bolt...could be a good one to learn, but he's only got.. lemme count..5 slots left
Anyway, these are the ones I'm most seriously thinking about adding ATM. Let me know what you think, I'm about to get started writing for the day.

He could find a book written by a mr. Yagimi (annegram of miyagi) that teaches the art of self defense through chores. It was installed in the system through the effort of numerous MMA weebs. Elliot could help him with it as well, or be so shocked he cant speak

Hm, maybe something that mixes Lady Killer with his grafting magic, hell, grafting someone else’s bent reserves to something (with consent of course) allowing to transfer at range. Or something along those lines. Ooo or grafting and his summoning for transfer damage shenanigans, the the ability to graft through his summons(wasp lands on someone, graft sense of balance to wasp, start flying)

I think you could take the idea for voodoo you farther create a body double that splits damage with you controling it like a puppet( no mind just follows commands) however you can shift your mind to the body double and puppet your real body. Bend only usable from real body/ only usable from body with mind?

Doesn’t necessarily have to be on Calvin but it would be cool to maybe see some of the consequences of not spending your warp fast enough and what Elliot has to say about it. I know it was mentioned that growing a tail or something is possible early in the story but I don’t think it’s actually been shown yet? Maybe on an injured soldier that was unconscious too long before getting healed or something

Makes a meat puppet and overlay his image onto it, stay out of most direct dangers that way. Just add his senses onto it and he’s got a functioning distraction/representative. Some or use spells from a distance and portray it as the muppets.

If its not too late to put my hat in the ring I had a two ideas; Ladies Knight: - Derived from Talking to Girls and Lady Killer - Most Knights fight to defend the honor of their kingdom, family, or noble order. You however fight for something much more......tangible.... - Buffs physical abilties when fighting to either defend one of the fairer sex or to impress them. This buff is only applicable in the defense of the opposite sex, does not stack with Rainbow Knight, Bi Sentinel, Cougar Commander, or DragonKnight. Mutant Mastermind: -Obtained from having more Skill Mutations chosen than Skill Upgrades. - Improves effectiveness of all mutations by (flat %) - Allows an innate understanding of how your own mutations can be utilized with skills or mutations owned by nearby allies. - May cause a case of Five Head

Just because he has an alchemy skill too doesn’t mean he wouldn’t go to a professional to get stuff. It just means that if you have him out and about exploring new places he could maybe find/make new things for him to do.

The illusion magic one there are two common routes to go. Either illusion magic is a branch of mental magic where you make the enemy believe they are seeing something which isn’t there. This could be a good avenue as it might lead to things like causing mental damage if attacked by an illusion at high skill levels or being able to make people see different things by doing something like “the physical manifestation of their greatest fear” The other option is light manipulation that allows people to make holograms of things to make people see things that aren’t there. This one could eventually lead to hard-light manifestation that could act more like a summon than he has to directly control rather than just an illusion. This might also work with duplomancy since the reason he can’t copy light is it’s tiny and fast moving he might be able to copy a hologram under his control. Having 1000s of pounds of light though would be scary as it would likely heat up the surroundings to the point where everything started to atomise and air would turn into plasma and that sort of thing. There is also the option of just magic, that’s somewhere between and a bit more wushu washy and flexible that would let you be more creative with its uses maybe. Though I find that limitations are the thing that fuels creativity. Obviously it’s your story, you do what you want just throwing out suggestions

A martial art skill might not necessarily have to be a specific martial art. He could get a “mixed martial arts” skill or something like “hand to hand”, would both mean you don’t necessarily have to conform to any modern day martial arts skill sets and lets you avoid some of the baggage that goes along with them. Something that would let him utilise his knife work might be cool too
