I loved this chapter, the way you introduced this new character and his interaction with Takuma felt truly genuine and understanding between the two of them. I think this chapter was the best you've written so far... I just wanted to tell you.

Just wanted to this is probably the best chapter you’ve ever written, really connected with this one

I am liking this direction of the story it feels philosophical and genuine

Tftc. This is one of my favorite stories atm; but it kind of seems like the plot is standing still currently. And with the chapters not being longer than they are (not a complaint); it seems that not much has happened. Well besides a few nuggets of world building (danzo etc.). I dunno, i just hope we'll see some more soon, and that this is just Takuma getting some well deserved 'downtime' until the next arc kicks fully into gear. :)

Not necessarily, he knows he’s an orphan but he doesn’t know when he became an orphan so it could’ve been something he heard “before his parents died” although I don’t think Campbell would read too much into it anyways

Takuma's record state that his "parents" died during the Nine Tail incident, and at that time, he was around 5 years old. He is an orphan, but not the type who lost his parents at birth. Now, it might be strange for a 5-year-old to remember such a complex talk, and why a mother would say that to a kid—but people don't tend to over-analyse when they haven't a reason to be suspicious. People tend to take words on face-value until they have reason to be suspicious. Of course, if someone's words are completely absurd, that might raise some questions. But, look at Takuma and Campbell. Both of them have lost their parents. Campbell holds the memories of his father in a very high regard, so he didn't bat an eye when Takuma brought up memories of his mother

Please correct me if I’m wrong but the section taking about the mom reads as if takuma is the one talking but in this life he is an orphan who doesn’t know his family and the kenjutsu instructor notes this by saying takuma is an orphan. So shouldn’t this be writing alarm bells when he is talking about a memory that shouldn’t exist and the instructor notes this. Or did I read this wrong and the instructor is talking about his past

It was spell takaburo. Takubro sound like de menma versión of takuma

I love this new character concept!

I notice this for a while now but I love that people keep referring to takuma as a less talented version of itachi in their heads, its like a compliment that seems like a insult. But takuma being who he is and knowing what he knows might be the only person that if they heard that he would honestly take it as a compliment and not a slight.

Hell yeah ! Takubro teaching Takuma the way of the sword
