I just want to point out two edits here. For the bolded notes section "You’re taking what is already..." should be "You’re teaching what is already..." and at the very end, you left the 's' off of "tell" in "Something tell[s] me he is, though"

I love the absolute power play of intercepting a message, laughing about it, and adding your own slightly nonsensical, slightly threatening, message to it.

nah, never read it

I just had a thought that Karth reminds me very strongly of someone from a different series, with a similar name, have you read Malazan?

Carl Mason

"Show absolute discretion toward" should mean something less along the lines of "terminate with extreme prejudice," and more along the lines of "this situation is tricky, handle with care, the outcome could mean not only your life but our entire society's lives and existence." Effectively, it tightens the leash instead of loosening it.

Enzo Elacqua

Doesn’t absolute discretion mean that they are allowed to perform whatever action they want while ignoring the standard set of rulings or rights that would be applied otherwise? I feel like that goes against the whole protect the baby thing, since it means any random officer could spark a war against gramma. Also if gramma knows about this tyrannos guy, wouldn’t paradox have learnt about this early on? Or is it more of a tyrannos knows about paradox but not the other way round sort of thing? That actually makes a lot more sense, could be a whole thing with gramma finding out and going on a war path.

While its funnier if thats the case, that's probably not actually needed. Considering the mechanic and concept behind it, it should be enough to insult the artists work enough to hurt his feelings. Sure, quality insults make it easier, but if you have no clue about painting it should still work if you are aggressive enough.

Nah, it’s that pig I think… The one that was directing the leader of Washington city

I still have not gotten over the fact that the only way out of Painter's power (Luke's, right?) is to give him pointers how he could do a better job restraining you in future.

The Dargon

I was confused as to what the box of papers was describing - but it seems as if the Eternal Empire was founded by a dragon who escaped the death of Manitia, and was raised in a research lab after getting to Earth somehow - surrounded by technology. It was the bit about magic that clued me into this theory, along with it being clearly stated to be non-human.
