Difference? Losers are not mammoths, they will never go extinct. Look at USA worker class - it's basically slavery, but everyone's happy. People don't know different. Same shit happens right now with EU and UK - dollar leverage inflation on this countries to reduce it in dollar's origin country; UK/EU lose cheap resources from colonies and Russia/China/India and now we'll see how it all burst like bubble it is. If nothing changes of course. Perry can provide cheap everything, but in doing so he will piss Solaris, Nexus and other big leagues – first want more supers compete, second want more stable society, thirds want money which they lose if he cut market down. So Perry should slow down expansion and play by rules or else

So can paradox pull the perfect floor off from Rick and Morty? What about the perfect bed etc... His powers may be good for luxury items to just like food.

Kemizle

Does he have an accountant and economic advisor? Seems like a good idea

Leobardis

Or..., he'll cause something of an exodus, as people work for him for a few months / years then leave the slums. Upward mobility at its finest. Alternatively, the people enriched by working there will seek to improve their local area (since they might still have dear old mom/grandma/grandpa/Aunt May who doesn't want to leave), causing gentrification to some extent.

melchi

He will only cause an inflation problem if the employees he is overpaying don't have enough stuff to buy. Considering he can also flood the market with goods at the same time if he is careful there won't be a currency change. The loosers will be anyone who can't turn a profit in the markets he enters.

I like the brief mention of someone else wanting the land, hadn’t thought of it until I saw the comments last time but land really would be fairly contested.

A disgruntled nondescript squirrel

that building is probably better armored than a mech and has magical invisible robotic arms for defense... it will be a short battle.

A disgruntled nondescript squirrel

the economy would be destroyed only if he kept the money and did not introduce new products and or services, as long as income and expenses remain close it just increases the circulation but does not produce much inflation. (Unless it's a small or closed system. Which is not the case as it is it will just end up gentrifying/ uplifting the slums and creating an army of mutant/magical beings. Well that and making Perry very very rich.)

Batts

Damn son, I just sold two to a local yard, not only did they pick them up, but paid $450.00 each for 23 year junkers. I wonder why so much difference?

Marcel Ortlepp

I tried to bring my old car to a junkyard in Germany. That felt like a slap in the face. They wanted me to pay them 60€ for trashing it. In the end I sold it privately for 200€.

SunderGoldmane

A destroyed economy pays nobody and has nothing to buy.

SunderGoldmane

This was a good pov switch.

Macronomicon

Well, I'm not 100% sure, but basically, if he buys a junker car for $500 and turns it into 1/2 mil in high-spec parts, (maybe more, but i don't wanna run the numbers) he needs to purchase about 5 cars per month to stay solvent. Which actually isn't that much, I don't think. however, it would only take what 1-4 guys to take apart five cars in a month, so he's probably gonna wanna buy junkers for 10k in order to force people to sell only to him, vastly ramping up total cars bought by several hundred times. still makes a huge profit and will process several hundred cars a month rather than 5. his profit margin will most likely be limited by demand, rather than supply, as he can probably undercut the market quite effectively. I imagine he'll eventually wind back his operations a bit to make fewer high spec parts so as not to flood the market and destroy the economy, and divert the remaining scrap between raw sales and his own private use.

iloverugs

Those brothers better watch their backs. Could see a few ‘accidents’ happen to free up some employee positions.

Gaunt

So, parry's paying out 900k a month plus benefits, whats his profit margine looking like. 10% to locust, X% in taxes. He's obviously printing money with the material but by how much, im curious.

Gavriel

🤣; thus proving paradox doesn't need them at all

Hunter Joseph

I like locust :)

Macronomicon

Just an aside to kinda see what Paradox is doing from an outside observer's eyes. Back to the action tomorrow!
