interesting thought on the sunset coloring.
A disgruntled nondescript squirrel
the light and dark contrast is much better, but a darker sky would probably make his slight background halo pop better. Also screaming defiance pose on a bright sunny day is a little strange , maybe a reddish orange sunset sky would enhance its effect
