Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Jabes McJabesface

Maybe there are rogue climbers but they are not lords?

Spoolofwhool

Tbf they're probably naturally colder even with the mirrors because they're farther from the tower.

Arrogant Dreamer

Is this series related to the ravager saga?

SkippyARC

You have your quotation marks between paragraphs backwards. It's supposed to be "Happens every time. "I didn’t realize it was you, instead of the way it is.

雨宿りAma yadori

Some council rejected his request for a high level party to hunt William Oh, so he went rogue and formed a party anyways using his own connections. Apparently they get squirrelly about anyone gathering too much power because it could lead to a coup.

ImYou

Wait why is he in jail?

Don

I love the zealotry of caddock because really I was just questioning why spend all this effort when he's already locked up then the books happened and whoop there ya go, question answered And my main criticism of Will continues his lock of a true face to face attack skill/ability is gonna hold him back massively if/when caddock comes back, like if he had a way to directly face his team last chapter caddock wouldn't be an issue.

StrollingEye

I'm sure there are rogue lords living out in the floors above 13 ... Especially if there are over 50 floors

The Walrus Transcendent

Man got himself a prison pocket big enough to hide shipping containers in.

Sce7tm

Did we know that Lords get a power boost based on their pledged followers? Do we think its pure numbers based or do the power of the followers also factor into it? A little surprising to hear the highest floor lord is such a low floor (low teens), or am i misunderstanding and that just highest human lord. Based on the convo from the snake, there are "longer lived" species who can survive the tower breaks, so have they just permanently set up on the higher floors?

Emily Gurnavage

"RIIIP." Goddamn Caddock, my man don't bluff. Suppose some jailer deaths will help cement his leadership in the eyes of the prisoners though.

Josh Cothran

Many many coils ago William’s name was Rand

RepossessedSoul

Just a heads up but patreon is doing fuckery with the email versions again and trying to push people to the app rather than the email update. This is causing the email to only have the first para. For anyone that is unaware you will be charged more if you use the app on iOS devices than following online.

Dayum, big lore dump ngl

Leobardis

The thing is... Anna could easily be the ride or die instead. Us mere mortals have to let our personality aspects drive the meat-suit one at a time where she can split them off into fully realized people. Want a romantic night out? There's an Anna for that. Murder most foul? There's an Anna for that. Etc...

Tom C

I do love it when a character is working towards understanding something or their subconscious is and I have zero idea what it could be. Tried to figure it out, have no clue!

Driftward

I mean....molting sounds more like a pseudo-clone type of thing, so Will would be more like 1/2 with some weird degree of separation due to the molting thing. Need new nomenclature.

Ethan Barrow

TFTC!! Some good info on this one, so Will is 1/4 Oroborus. That's a large percent.

Gaunt

Anna might be a dream for some but Loth's the true ride or die. What a nice, supportive relationship

Imp

Gee. I wonder if the frozen wastes are that way because mirrors designed to reflect the heat gets stolen

Beeees!

I think he's joining June's party?!

Baines

he must abandon his earthly connections in order to reach the ouroboros state

Stephen E Wilson Jr.

When he tried to have his hand regrown. He was told his arm belongs to the tower. No take backs. It's like the soul or essence of his arm is being used by the tower.

Nate Oppy

“At the centre of the web of every story there is always one. One to stand against the onslaught of endless force. One to part the tide and sacrifice everything from their hand to their soul. William Oh is our lord, our last wager. He will be the dawn of our new era, an age of darkness or… an age of -“ “LEGEND!!!” “Will stop snaking my lines” - Jason Salazar, prophet of the end in his best tongue speak.

Daemion

Oh, theorycrafting time! Well, there's so much to digest, I'll wait until I have more pieces of the puzzle before I go really deep into it. But I think it's no coincidence that the tower growing is called a coil or that there's always a hero (possibly descended from the snake god of chaos) as its herald. Or trigger/sacrifice. William's entire (extended) family seems to have a deep connection to the tower and the system, which might play into him being unable to restore his hand. As the priest back then told him: He sacrificed it to the tower, so it's no longer his and even the gods can't bring it back. The regrown hand was then sacrificed again, which probably didn't help Will. But the only reason he could sacrifice it in the first place is that it was a monster part. Meaning Will, through his heritage, was made by the tower. Partially, anyway. The way Reese talks about Will makes it fairly obvious that there's only one hero who dies and is reborn... and it's Will. He probably had countless names over the eons and the knowledge and skills of those lives are probably buried deep within him. If he could find a way to awaken all his past lives, he might become strong enough to reach the top of the tower and stop the cycle. The question is, what does Ouroboros want to achieve? He's cooperating with Holdna, right? The Tower seems to be growing taller and more powerful with each Coil but humanity seems to be teetering on the edge of extinction. The world outside the Tower doesn't seem capable of sustaining life without it. If I remember correctly, if you go far enough it becomes a barren wasteland and there are no sun or stars in the sky. Is the Tower meant to assist humanity? Or is it the reason why they have no real world? Or is the world outside of it foreign? Is that something the gods want to change? Will being a tiny cog in a massive machine is a fitting image, because while he might be the most important person in the entire Tower... the apocalyptical cycle is so much larger than him. Maybe he should try to get more answers out of Arkesh and Reese. They already said too much, might as well go all the way and hope it works out.

SuperNewbie

Whatever happened with Jason? Is he part of the caravan?

Tom C

TFTC

Sam

Oooh so Caddock now not only has Will as an enemy but the entire church. That should take some pressure off of Will

Fraithor

Loved it, thanks for the chapter!

Andrew

Thank you!

thaughton2

I wonder what his hand means. Is it due to the body part being used for sacrifice twice? Something weirder going on?

im Panda

Thanks for the chappy

Forint

Considering how much Poe I've been playing. I understand. Shame Jason stole his hand.

Nyroe

Add that last bit to the memory sequence! Also, it sounds like William Oh's dad - Daddy-Oh - was a conduit for Ouroborous' brand of Paraphilia.

Macronomicon

ever heard of revenge bedtime procrastination? Well, the day before yesterday i was up until 4:00 am playing the Vidya games, and yesterday i felt like shit, so i didn't bother to try writing. I did however set myself a much earlier bedtime and decided i would DEFINITELY finish a whole chapter today which resulted in what you see before you 2700 words completed before noon. Goddamn. MIght be a bit expositiony, but we pulled it off! 1-day chapter! ...i need better stress-coping habits, lol Enjoy!

Cole Schafer

Thanks for the chapter!
