Gorane

Do we know what floor Uru drakes are from?

Gorane

I wonder if Loth can get a Uru drake sacrifice for some skill and take this eye ability too. Of the whole team she seems like the person who can utilise this the most

McIntosh Ewell

That makes me wonder, is it possible to make "cursed" relics that just decrease attributes?

McIntosh Ewell

So, in the case of passives, I view it less as an Ability, and more as a restructuring of the body. You don't have to exert yourself for your eyes to see, your ears to hear, for your lungs to transfer oxygen to your blood cells, for your pancreas to regulate blood sugar, etc. It just happens as a normal function of those organs. And those functions aren't things you can just will to turn off. Not without damaging the organs.

SunderGoldmane

Please elaborate for the uninitiated?

Fiddle

I think ive read most of what you've written and put on the internet. You have a real knack for making me go to work sleep deprived haha. Great story thanks for the chapter.

Mrfacemanlol

Change the title back to

Stanisław Drewienkowski

It always seemed strange that passive abilities could not be toggled off, especially in the case of eye skills like Wills and Alicias, the Tower puts you one step away for being irrevoverably screwed one „Yes” away, no warning included. All other abilities require effort to activate (charge), these ones use circulating miasma in amoonts low enough to not require charge, but it seems strange you can’t cut the flow away. Maybe Miasma sucking bug of loths near the eye area?

sephirothrr

I like the idea that in the world of this story the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis is actually true

Enko

Cuz alicia herself is "blind" I assume

Gardor

“Sounds familiar,” Alicia whispered. Sorry, whys this sound familiar? Ive forgotten, has Will blinded himself before a duel in the past? I know im gonna kick myself when someone tells me the very obvious event Alicia is remembering. If Will was wrong when guessing about the fingers and facial expressions, would he still have been able to say the words out loud? Because he didnt believe he was telling a lie? More importantly, how did Travis lie about holding up two fingers? Also, wheres this confidence that he can easily defeat a 1000 year old fae lord in his own domain come from? Being blind seems like a pretty big handicap. Hes been a scrappy underdog his whole tower climb, barely squeaking by with ingenuity and balls of steel (literally and figuratively, that'd be a good double meaning prophesy). Has he switched from that characterization, paranoid and clever, to this borderline arrogant thinking that he can walk into a ring with a lord level opponent and dominate? Has he started embracing plot armor, cuz he knows he's fated to die on the 50th floor? Although i guess he took that tournament pretty casually, maybe my interpretation of how he ranks himself is skewed.

Hell 5pawn

"Single handedly."

SunderGoldmane

I wonder if alicia will get anything out of this brain lecture?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Ral

Stressed out, emotional turmoil, and your crush falling asleep next to you. We have been shown time and time again that Will has willpower!

Ethan Barrow

TFTC!! Will is so damn dense and I somehow feel attacked. Looking forward to how strong Will is going to be once he gets accustomed to it.

RedInkQuill

Will he lose the sight to see in more ways than one?

HUAAAANG

I see you still haven't done a Loth Learns Leavening arc. Please be aware that pastries and veryous uther beked guds mey bee perceived as "traps" considering their delivery of secondary payloads via a flaky crust. The payloads may even include insects!

Vinohr

I wonder if phantom eyes will be equally blind and if so whether he can just scatter them across the battlefield in order to see with proximity. Like if he has a grid of them around him such that he would be able to just barely see them from the nearest other eye...

Sam

Can will still close his eyes or can he just see through his eye lids?

Andrew

Thank you!

Josiah

Acuity helps him see without eyes. Acuity also probably makes his eyes more sensitive to miasma, stopping him from seeing with his eyes. That's rough, buddy.

Bagmoose

You know, I was wondering if he was going to go into the fight with some kind of debuff, or if we would see the full unrestrained power of William Oh. I'm glad to see that he'll still need to be working from a disadvantage, Its always a joy to see you write creative solutions to death sentence problems. I love that you took a potential long term boon and turned into a short term hurdle, excited to see how the fight turns out!

Daedalus

Second best. She’s not really gaining any ground either, Loth is always pulling further and further ahead. Brianna is definitely second-place and miles ahead of anyone else, though.

Mrfacemanlol

Brianna is best girl

Tsorov

“Correct!” Someone who has never seen something before will only be able to make out light and dark, then shapeless blobs of color, then eventually, over many months, their vision will refine into something closer to what we know, although it may never be as good as someone who was born with it.” One " is too much

Mundane

WilliamOh is so good in bed he can satisfy you as soon as you get under the covers.

Macronomicon

Grammar actually wasn't that bad, just add a paragraph spacer between different ideas/uses to allow the reader to digest each idea individually. Also, it's best to improve your writing yourself. That might be an old person/millenial opinion, but I'm fairly certain it's true. Builds a stronk mind and a unique voice.

Doggo

what if will can just encase poisonous gas or some other thing under air and then hide it with refranction and when the enemy speaks which happens almost always just throw it in the mouth or better just throw a bunch of gas at the enemy and encase them in walls of air and because of the gas it will be hard to see letting snakes do their thing while also not letting the enemy break the air holding the gas poisoning and weakening the enemy while pummeling him from 5 different sides which he can barely see. also i feel like this one is much less realistic but what if he gets a sacrifice that can hide phantom hand/snakes and just push them down the throat of the enemy and explode from there, or if will can manipulate air he can black the airwas or send in small pressurized gas bombs and once they are in the lungs they will explode. I feel like these are very unrealistic but with the upgrading of the uru drake phantom hand and aspect of the serpent manupilation of air will become much easier and something similar to what I said might become possible. sorry for the bad grammar i type what I think and its probably incoherent I might just put it through ai next time

ReadingObsessed

I didn't think of that possibility either 😅

Daedalus

Aww, Anna.

Macronomicon

lose a bet? oh, you mean the secondary Ability? The bet that it would be useful?

Andrew Gonzalez

Welp, he had to lose a bet one day, shame it was right before he fights for his damn life

Julia Niles

Mhmmmmm
