I think the 70s is the best visual option but it is also a major spoiler. I'd avoid it on those grounds.

Cavern feels too spoiler-y, 70's would just make people go "Huh?". And Matador only guards the train. * To clarify, I don't like covers that spoil the book or plot points, so the 70's would make sense AFTER reading it, but wouldn't really spoil anything since it could be time travel or other magical shenanigans.
