Spoolofwhool

Not everything. People have a limited number of relic slots they can have active relics in. And it seems like you can't multi-wear relics of the same slot and mentally swap between them. That being said, if he has the charges and storage space to spare there's nothing starting Will from stealing the gloves then the ring underneath. Or the shirt then amulet.

Spoolofwhool

Yeah he did. Mark saw an explosion while waiting, which was probably Ferole tripping the trap at the water tanks

Spoolofwhool

The ability might account for that somehow. Hard to say what it would do if there's a mismatch in body configuration. Like if the hydra hit his head, would it mirror onto one head or all of them?

William Farrar

I was waiting for him to chop off Wyrd's hand and for little to happen to him, seeing how he is already missing a hand.

Gavriel

Have you seen Loth? Seriously....

Xonarag

Ferole was the assassin killed right before that scene no?

雨宿りAma yadori

For now. The storage space grows, so eventually we may have an opening quote about William Oh stripping his opponents naked with a glance.

war doggle

Didn't Loth booby trap the tangled's main body with separate traps to the explode Oilton trap.

chris

I was rereading Chapter 34: Thorns and noticed something. Mark at one point says “Where’s Ferole?” Mark asked after the assassin his father had sent to clear the way for him. “He should be back by now.” and follows up with "He wouldn’t’ve abandoned his mission. Either he did it already and didn’t deign to tell me or the Tangled proved to be more of a challenge than anticipated". We know that someone stole a single relic from Travis' dad's office and Will was the one to kill the source Tangled. So, my theory is that this "Ferole" heard about Lord Wyrd's plan to use a Tangled outbreak to take over a prosperous stronghold to give to Mark as a started stronghold. Wanting the Relic, "Ferole" persuaded Lord Wyrd to make it Oilton. After infiltrating the office and getting the Relic he bounced, hoping for the whole scheme to be obscured by Marks and Bron's death to the Tangled. After Lord Wyrd, "Ferole" will be a future antagonist.

Cyrus McEnnis

We know that it doesn't work with others because of the way it worked trying to feed Loth a potion back when she ran face first into Mark Wyrd's cheese-grater build: "He immediately whipped the Phantom Hand over to Loth, emptying the red liquid into Loth’s mouth. For a brief instant he was resisted by something, but when he targeted the empty space above Loth’s open mouth, it worked". So we know that for other people, he can't put the Phantom Hand inside them for truly broken shenanigans (although, y'know, maybe if he sacrificed his other hand that might upgrade the skill...). Now we don't have a lot of info on whether he can release stuff from The Hand Of Inevitable Doom inside himself or not, and honestly I can see arguments on both sides there

Jeff Wells

I want a line from Alicia saying something like that. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for her not to have seen it, since her whole shtick right before this was spotting monsters underwater who were about to attack.

Donovan

What about entering his own body for the mushrooms? What about absorbing health potion either through "Phantom Hand" storage or depositing health potion directly into the heart. Like a Intracardiac injection.

Donovan

Please let this become a chapter opening quote

Cyrus McEnnis

My math might be wrong, but if Will is stealing 2 rings and an amulet that's three charges worth of Phantom Hand, right? Doesn't that mean "29->27 of 34 Charges remaining" should actually end on 26 of 34?

Fleisch

His hand cannot enter other peoples bodies. Only through none living material.

Edward Jeffs

Never challenge William Oh to a fair fight; its an oxymoron. It was never fair so long as you oppose him. You will find your build crubling under his tactics and your teammates crossing over to the other side; by death or betrayal.

Cory C.

It is a very powerful ability but it can only target the small relics of one person at a time and against your average climber who isn't so specifically over-tuned it probably wouldn't be as devastating.

Jack

assuming fungal zombies still gotta eat

Mobious

If he can steal relics climbers are wearing with phantom hand, there shouldn't be an issue with "stealing" the infection out of his body the same way.

Cyrus McEnnis

I mean it's a logical extension of Will's powerset and probably why his build is considered broken by the people who tried to kidnap him. It'll be interesting to see what countermeasures will be taken - decoy cursed items come to mind, maybe items that cause a pocket dimension to rupture when placed inside one. But hey, not like Wyrds build wasn't broken before he started shedding relics...

God

in a 1 v 1 always bet on Kai-... William Oh

Mariposa

I like that William can steal stuff. Plus his phantom hand is from a sacrifice that's almost as powerful as the progenitor urdu drake. It makes sense for it to be powerful in niche ways.

Andrew

Thank you!

Daemion

I wonder if Will could still steal a ring if it was worn beneath a glove. Or an amulet worn beneath a shirt. On the other hand, at some point everything people wear will be a relic, right?

Daemion

It was 100% in line with my expectations and prediction from last chapter. ^^

Sanairb

There has to be a ton of bones at the bottom of a hydra nest right? It could have gotten mixed in to the background if it wasn't moving. I do like your idea though.

chris

I don't think Relic Theft is too OP. Just have some of the enemy scouts that got away, who presumably both high perception and observation abilities, spread it around that Will is a relic thief and have his future opponents use tactics that counter act it.

Nef Mccrimmon

No start thing at the start of chappy lol

JTP

Stealing relics makes him a seriously terrifying opponent.

Exrotes

Until otherwise stated I'm gonna headcanon that Alicia was totally aware of the Hydra's presence because she could see it's skeleton in the water and thought Will had a genius plan based on aggroing it.

Mariposa

The opening line is hilarious 😂

Vinohr

Also a big fan of the combat relic theft, seems like a very good strategy to disrupt opponent's builds as they become more and more synergistic

Vinohr

I'm sure the nap will be fine, no consequences at all

Afrisan

Good fight! Worried about him just being able to steal loot from people though, seems like it’s a broken ability

Jake Malony

Mess with the bull , you get the horns. Mess with the goat, you get facemasked.

Stephen E Wilson Jr.

Aggressive mushrooms are extra scary and stealing relics is op op.
