Aka being a lord ;)

Apotheosis

Sam Oppy

Is there no chapter on Friday (today) - just trying to understand the schedule for posts

Mariposa

I think it's fine that he's a jerk. As a leader I'd try and get him to focus it in the right direction. He can't cause issues in the party, but can go to town on anyone else. So he needs to learn boundaries. Have a situation where his words cause someone he genuinely cares about gets badly injured. Then have William teach him the importance of the Party. (I keep having Fast and Furious going through my head when I wrote that 😅)

Macronomicon

his niche is meant to be no-rules PVP.

UnhandMe

Finally feels like Will has found his niche, ngl it started feeling like will was constantly playing second fiddle to the rest of his party members so this was a beautiful change of pace

Got Heem 11

Have loth and will engineer him a love interest

austin kutz

I feel like people impersonating Will is going to either get old fast, or the impersonators are going to be so useful that he'll hire people to impersonate him

austin kutz

Alicia and Reggie are classic couple material though. She's reserved and shy, he's outgoing. It's a case of opposites attract, and you use this as your evidence of a bad pairing?

DM

Figure out what he wants and give it to him in a way that shows him it’s not really what it’s cracked up to be…

Enzo Elacqua

I feel that any of the party members doing this might have more harm then good. Approach the sister whose supposedly very experienced and have her deal with it. She could dangle the whole parent card, or the you are failing the family, or set him up with a childhood friend to chill out, or simply say that the reality is that the party will surpass him if he doesn’t clean up. Idk I’m sure you can think of more ability driven or plot based ideas but those were some

Chris Curtin

Since Travis is such a suck up, have him get entangled with a succubus.

Sean Celestine

That wouldn't work as well since his family is practically sponsoring the entire party at the moment. Author could do it and have Alicia's and Mason's families provide support instead, but has a greater chance to not flow well with the current narrative unless a lot more of the plot is altered.

Cyrus McEnnis

The other other option is simply this - don't fix it. Boot him from the party and set him up as the next books' big bad.

gabriel hutcherson

We need a side quest with loth baking

Daemion

I don't think Travis is that bad yet. He got the hint about flattering Alicia, he has been an useful member of the party and he's still a bit traumatized by the death of his father and loss of his family's stronghold. He's always seen himself as a Lord's son and it's difficult to overcome the knee jerk reaction of seeing a commoner get "what rightfully should belong to him". As long as he's not acting on these impulses and emotions I see no problem with him. Of course, it would be healthy to overcome this issue so it won't make him hesitate in the future. Scaring him straight might backfire because it would be accusing him of and punishing him for something he hasn't done yet. It might be enough to have Will and Alicia explain things to him. Knowing that Alicia has an active dislike of everything noble and that it isn't anything personal might reassure him. In the end they are all kids with not much real life experience, I wouldn't be too harsh on Travis for being jealous.

Daemion

I think that pairing is quite wholesome. Reggie is slowly bringing Alicia out of her shell and hopefully convincing her to get gear with resistance instead of her current nonsense. Alicia playing the prank on him last chapter was really funny, too. It shows that she's comfortable with and around him. I mean, dating within a climber team is probably always going to be somewhat problematic, there's a reason why you shouldn't get into a relationship with a coworker after all. But so far it seems harmless and good for both of them. Reggie gets to live a little outside of his 10 year slavery contract.

Jeff Wells

She's a deep-in-her-shell kind of person, she kind of needs someone a little pushy. Reggie doesn't seem to be overdoing it.

ParadoxFox

Now that was epic!

Bookworm bibliophile

I mean he already lost a lot and he may still recent Will in the relic they stole from his family. So maybe he could make mistake and he and Will could have sitt down where you display Part of Will Chrisma

Sean Celestine

You can have his behavior steadily escalate until the party fights their first Kaiju. During the battle you can have him disobey the orders of the people helping them, drawing the mob's aggro. This would lead to him being grievously injured and due to the circumstances of the fight, he can't be healed right away. After the fight Will could approach him, interrogating him about his recent behavior. The reason could be that seeing the destruction of his family's city and the loss of his father made him realize how unequipped he is for the tower. That, in addition to seeing how strong his party members are and their rapid improvement, has pushed him to "train" whenever possible. This explains why he had been so antagonistic "training" his taunt ability. Additionally, it gives an avenue to look deeper into certain traits of the characters involved depending on how you write it. It's a tad cliche, true, but it's all I got for the moment.

Bookworm bibliophile

Yeah. They just don't click. Reggie is likeable individual and actually knows how to talk to girls but in Alicia case It feel wasted and he comes out as pushy. Not to mention that political fallout that can come from it. Honestly if I would ship her woth someone it would be Mason

Andrew

Thank you!

EDMANGO

I like something similar to this but they actually do drop him, and he struggles by himself in the city for a bit before begging to come back or something like that. Y'know, an actual consequence for action leading to growth instead of just implying something bad will happen and hoping it stuck?

Cyrus McEnnis

Is there some kind of emotional feedback from abilities? Because his whole powerset is kinda centered on both being the center of attention and being so annoying that you can't ignore him. If he's just a jerk then demonstrating that he needs the party rather more than they need him, rewarding good behavior, and perhaps a dash of therapy is called for. If it's feedback though, then they need to synergise his powers / relics so he attracts attention through how awesome a party member he is.

Ramapriya Rangaraju

eh, dating someone doesn't mean they're your one and only forever, teenagers gotta teenage

Exrotes

I'd give him a pass for being a jerk after the party used him as fishing bait for most of the 4th floor.

Prinny Knight

Not a fan of the Alicia/Reggie pairing

LordDark

A ring of inverted aura?

Beeees!

Thats a tough one for one such as him. Whos used to being thrown to the wolves as bait. Hmm, probably something to do with Alicia... hes seems very invested in her well-being. Like maybe they construct a scenario in which alicia seems like she could be in danger and travis acting out makes it much worse. Idk tho

Mani

One trick pony, and a five trick goat

Mani

Maybe a slight scare, followed by a healthy dose of profit motive. I think he's not totally wrong to feel cross after they hung him out as bait last floor, no matter how much his build supports it. So something to sweeten the pot might be just what he need to coma back around

Edward Jeffs

Maybe he taunts an emotionally unstable assasin who makes a play on his life every floor from now on

Chris

I mean will and loth can engineer a situation where Travis acts out and gets in trouble with something that could potentially kill him. Then have will give him a whole "now the party could help you out of this situation... but you really haven't been much of a team player. So why should we expend the effort" speech. Alternatively in a similar vein engineer the situation, but leave him scared he's gonna die and then swing in with the whole party to rescue him. If he is capable of self introspection

Macronomicon

Travis feels like a problem waiting to happen, and the leaders of the party aren't so dumb they're gonna ignore it. Can anybody think of ways they might try to scare Travis straight? Life-changing experiences that make him less of a douche?
