Bob

lol love the “I live for this shit” quote. Picturing vin diesel’s voice yelling it from the body of Carrie

Castleking 2005

What if William oh steps on someone’s face? Will their face deform for better footing now that it can be used offensively? Does that scale with acuity to overcome resistance?

BlaueFeder

I am no fan of her either, way too op for someone who stayed back on the lower floors for so long...

BlaueFeder

Carry was way too op. She better have a good explanation for this boost of power since her last appearance. Something like support from one of the Lords who wanted Will to lose or sth.

Keegan Weiler

Right? Plus is a 'missing' eye really any more missing than having all your flesh burned off, or devoured by insects? All your internal organs eaten by a wasp as easier to regrow than one eye?

Skyra

Chapter number is wrong should be 78

River

You can probably tie the wound to Summer's attack and it's ability/relic eating power causing the wound to be more difficult to heal.

Nate Oppy

It is said that when William Oh finished his climb of the tower his next step was into God hood. In order to make this transition between realms he set out to retrieve the quantum apple, the artefact responsible for controlling the flow of time in the universe. Will found it in the heart of a quasar when he accidentally sneezed too hard and caused one to form. He took a bite of “the apple”. Now the universe sets its watch by his footsteps.

Ral

My bad I thought there was only three not four.

God

It could prolly be justified by the fact that it was 'eaten' by Summer, and this might be similar to how his hand can't be healed because it was 'claimed' by the tower.

Phsteven

Could be that that specific priestess isn’t strong enough to heal his eye satisfactorily, or maybe could be a test from Holdna to see if Will is part serpent…

Karma

Who is probably Brianna right?

Patrick

Considering everyone thought Will could get his hand restored with healing (the only reason he can't is he sacrificed it), it does feel odd that they can't restore the eye. As for the precast heal spell when he exploded the other person's head, my understanding was that wasn't because they couldn't put a head back together, but because it would take long enough that the soul would have moved on. So the precast spell was to give them enough time to work before the person's soul bounced on out of there

Otter Pops

Jean is the owner of the bakery where the tangled girls work

Ral

Also this line "That character from children’s tales" Is so good it can be the chapter title.

Ral

"What did Jean do when she realized she was too mentally weak to withstand the memories of what had happened in the Wyrd Stronghold?" Who is Jean? Are we talking about Brianna?

CherMi

Disappointed in Carrie, why would she use permanent ability damage in tournament? On a friend no less. Death can be reversed, but we've never heard about damaged abilities and what it takes to heal them.

Ariel

If memory serves, Holdna's spell was to anchor her soul to the body so that it wouldn't flee while they reconstructed her face. I'm too lazy to go back to the chapter but the sense I got was that the reconstruction was not part of the spell but just something they could do. If i'm wrong correct me please.

Macronomicon

No this does feel a bit out of place. will have a think about it.

Kronos

They were able to restore her head because they cast a very specific spell prior to the match on her and had William swear to not abuse its existence.

Kronos

Definitely we’re in my opinion

Kronos

Only have a vague recollection, but I do remember a mention to him previously

Fleisch

I wonder if the tower evolving is like inflation. Floor 2 back than with Ezykial is the equivalent of floor 10 now. It could make sense when the nun said they found a town that looked exactly like the one back on floor 1.

Ariel

One note for the author. You had healers who were able to literally put the javelineer's head back together, and they can't heal a punctured eye? That seems inconsistent, unless this is intentional and you intend to justify it. Seperately, I'm glad Will fought Carrie. It gives me a sense of what it must be like to fight Will. Unfair synergies that can be switched up, and the ability to cannibalize peoples stuff.

Aloysius

Ouroboros baby. Swallowing his own tale (instead of tail ;) ) and being the myth to himself each time is pretty unique

Patryk Rys

Same. I was kind of lost there. But I guess this is because we are reading not in one sitting but week to week and its hard yo remember all the details

Cj

This was awesome, you always have the best writing of mind control and altered states of mind 10/10 fight sequence!

Logan

I’ve read them all already 😞

austin kutz

Ah, so he's a time looping reincarnated God. Glad that you switched it up a bit, I thought I was getting too good at guessing the context of the main characters background

Melody Haren Anderson

If we think of this as an aspect of Immortal Serpents, which we have reason to think Will shares potential with, it also might be some kind of... not genetic but bloodline memory? Because this would imply that Granesh's church is a BIT right about things, but probably taking them in weird and bad directions (that if my guess is right, is part of why the Tower is destabilizing with lack of Lords... they're so focused on "removing chaos" they're increasing it by destroying those who could tame floors).

JTP

Great fight, interesting mysteries!

Ariel

More info please. There are too many little breadcrumbs to keep track of all of them. If you want me to wait for a big reveal that's cool; but if you wanted us to track him already then i'll need a refresher

Uroš

Remind me where he was first mentioned?

Uroš

I liked that it wasn't too drawn out and the matches went on quick.

Stanisław Drewienkowski

So we have an Ouroboros kind of situation. Ezykiel is a legendary hero from the past, for whom William Oh was just a legend for children, they swap places in a never ending cycle, one a legend to another, possibly both are the same person/soul, that's why they can swap under right circumstances. At this time Ezykiel takes the role of expirienced one, but during his times Will would probably take this role

Infinate Fail

If he was mentioned, then i completely forgot about him.

JhanicManifold

Will is a reincarnated Ezekiel and time in the Tower somehow runs in circles?

Apiris

The line about the painting was enough to jog my memory. Without that I would have been completely lost though

JhanicManifold

yeah I was also hazy on who Ezekiel was, I think we just saw him in a painting one time?

Quex

I certainly liked it. While there's a lot of brutality in the tower, it's really cool to see different builds and expand the world a bit without Will and party having to go scorched earth/murder hobo to see them.

Macronomicon

Ehhh, (hand waggle) I like it if it's in service to the plot, and if it drives reader engagement. Hopefully both of these criteria were reached.

Andrew

Thank you!

Macronomicon

hey guys, sound off here if you also had this problem. if it's common i'll add a couple paragraphs detailing exactly where this though came from.

Jeff Wells

Check out the entire back catalog, even the incomplete stories are worth it. Macro is hands down my favorite LitRPG author.

Jeff Wells

It was Will's memory, that's why it's Brooke him out. This does seem like a new twist on the Tower's magic. You would expect pretending to be a figure of legend to give Will the ability to break the psychic attack, not gain a whole bunch of new abilities. It seems he actually channeled the guy, and that this is a somewhat known thing to him. Also shows that, at good as William Oh is, he could still be better.

Jeff Wells

Well, she lost, so no. Pretty close though.

Quex

Thanks for the chapter and the arc. I believe you said you weren't a fan of tournament arcs. Feel any differently after writing your own spin on it?

Daemion

Oh, more mysteries. Not only is Will half-serpent, which means he doesn't know nearly enough about his parents, he seems to have a connection to Ezykial, who seems to be some hero from the past. Again, there's a serpent theme. Now, did the real Ezykial really know tales of William Oh or is this just Will's mind trying to deal with the personality overlay? What's the connection here? I doubt "believing it really hard" is enough to acquire new combat skills or tactics.

Aloysius

I pity you for catching up mate. But this world seems like a bloody amazing world to have in vr one day

Baines

his ‘origina’ personality was resurfacing on re-read there is some wibly wobly going on

Malcolm Haynes

Carrie is even more OP than William Oh?!

Eli Loeb

Who is Ezekiel again?

Kronos

Tftc! How does someone from the past know the legends of William Oh?

RedInkQuill

Happy day. Thanks for the chapter.

Clifton Thrasher

Banned from the party

Logan

Just found your story last week and binge read everything. I’ve been fiending for this new chapter like a crack withdrawal. Tftc.
