Yeah... Most of your issues with the show are actually fixed and make more sense in Season 2 :) I think you're going to enjoy it a lot!

meh I'm halfway trough the first season and the guys who made the anime were bad at story telling .. like verry bad let me explain ushio is a good kid but they made him being too good in each episode like stupid good they also show too much cliché emotional stuff for no reason as if to take more screen time I'm like "yeah I know stop repeating the case over and over again of this particuliar character I'm not that stupid!" and also there is new useless character almost every episode that are probably not going to appear later and they are not bringing anything to the story that I do not like verry much there is also not much plot thickening but still enough to keep me interested and the only character really evolving is tora ... I dig it enough to try to watch season 2 when I'm finished with 1 ... -since you got me interested in something I didn't even knew existed I'm gonna ask ... do you know of the serie "wakfu" the animation style is not bad and I think you may enjoy it a bit ... there is also "boku no hero academia" but it just started as an anime and for some reason I think it gives off a bad message but it got me hyped and holy shit that is a freackishly big paragraph LOL sorry
