I had some of these thoughts. I'm in no way a physicist so I probably need to do some more research or speak to my more science-minded friends. Part of my thought process was that Etja would need to perfectly angle the counterforce against the direction of their momentum. If she's off by a few degrees, they'd end up sliding all around in a different direction. Also, if she's creating a gravitational pull upwards and the bird does a sudden dive, then they'd be getting thrust up with additional force. There's the consideration of perfectly applying the appropriate amount of force to the pull, as well, which will continually adjust as acceleration levels out or the bird alters direction. I could reword to add these thoughts, but I was erring on the side of brevity since I didn't want to go into a total diatribe in the middle of the action. Alternatively, it opens the question of whether she generates a gravitational pull at a specific point, mimicking the pull of a large body of mass concentrated in a small-ish area, which could potentially lead to a gradient across their body that would make the blood in their feet much heavier than the blood in their core. Or if the gravitational force applies itself across their entire body evenly with no perceptible origin point. Since the latter makes more sense, I went with the frame-shifting idea. Ultimately a gravitational force equivalent imitates gravitational pull by providing an equivalent acceleration to the Earth's gravity in free fall. How does that differer, practically, to having two separate gravitational bodies versus a gravitational body working against acceleration-generated g-forces? I dunno, maybe none. I'll need to look into it more.

> If she'd been generating a countervailing gravitational pull, that might have done more harm than good by compounding the pull from two directions. Pretty sure that would just, be safe and normal? The reason everyone is having issues with the acceleration is because the bird's push up is only being transmitted through their feet, gravity would just pull the whole body up evenly and feel like free fall. Gravity is (generally) a pretty chill force, we only feel anything from it normally because it's pulling us down and the floor doesn't want to move, pushing our feet up. Then the rest of our body has to cope with that imbalance and not fall over Edit: This all assumes that gravity is mostly pointing in a single direction so you can move as a unit. If the spell makes a point source with gravity falling in radially then things would get messy and spaghetti shaped. Edit2: checked the character sheet, doesn't say much about the mechanics besides 'manipulate gravity', so based on the amount of options I'll assume you can twist it however you want. Potentially quite spicy if you reforge it a bit and make the safety measures optional
